Richard Wray Monday April 10, 2006 The Guardian
Music fans will soon be able to watch performances by their favourite bands on the internet.
BT is due to announce today that it has signed deals with concert footage specialists i-concerts and Eagle Rock to offer more than 500 concerts and performances by artists such as Sheryl Crow, The Pixies, Morrissey and The Who on its forthcoming broadband TV platform.
BT Vision, due to be launched in the autumn, will allow users to view all Freeview channels and catch up on programmes from the past seven days. The deal announced today will add a pay-per-view live music capability. |

Is this like Channel 4's 'Greatest Poll' with Pixies in the ad to make the show look fucking cool but in reality is another excuse to show me more Bono on the back of Frank's genius? You name checked the Pixies, didn't ya, Carl?! You thought by falsely naming them and Sheryl in the article I'd happily switch over to BT. You've got yourself a new job, you're Mr BT, ain't cha!
It all makes sense.

Under the deal BT will show music videos from artists such as The White Stripes (pictured), Basement Jaxx and The Pixies as well as hundreds of harder-to-find or classic videos. |
