A news item from Monday's Spanish sports newspaper AS...

--

Lalalala'ed translation:

Notorious pothead Rijkaard, reportedly the FC Barcelona coach, is cool, he admires the Pixies, one of the most influential bla-bla... They brought some fresh air in an art dominated by the majors, as the Pixies proved that you good compose great music without following the usual commercial approach, going for the charts. Of course, the Barça is just as cool and fresh, bar the C#m, bringing quality and fun in nowadays' tight-assed football. And it's also efficient and wins, just like last night... Well, expect a wave of mutilation for Nov 19th Barça-Real ballet dancing contest.

Aren't they just great to watch?

Great to see Ronaldhinho pick up his award last night. He's the best player in the world, no doubt. Despite what 'The Special One' thinks.

They've now scored at least 3 goals for six games in a row...

For butter?!? That's excellent! But it has to be real butter, huh... I really had to laugh. Would love to see it.

And HPM: Jürgen may have scored in that game (and played for Tottenham a few years later), but him beeing waaaay better than Rudi? That's like saying ... ... shit, I was gonna say Lineker was better than Shearer, but I don't really know them that well, so maybe he was...
Anyway, it's just not true. So, there!

Chill Kella, I was just being 'light hearted'. It's my opinion that Jurgen was better than Rudi, and Shearer was better than Lineker as a side note. Again that is just my opinion.

Well, then I can forgive that Barsa beat Cadiz last summer in "Trofeo carranza". In the regular season they are not going to be so lucky.

I can remember in the 80's when Barsa have already the champagne at the dress room to celebrate their championship. They just had to beat Cadiz. They lost 4 - 0.

he was playing at the begin of this season
but that was a surprise to us
because he never played much since he arrived in 2002
he did very well in the first few matches this year
don't know why he won't play anymore though

he had a fashionline for godsakes! He's the man! not in the indie-world like Frank Black
but in the Sports world, Fashion world, Celebrity World

although he was a great player for Ajax (the main enemy of my team 'feyenoord')
this gives him enough credit to be a great guy

It's fitting that the coach of the most expressive team in world football should be a fan of Pixies.
