As usual, they insist on calling Frank 'Black Francis' throughout haha. Surprised that they haven't gotten worked up about his joke about 'not rejected enough Kim songs yet'. Ah well...

Pixies stall over new album plans
It's still up in the air
The Pixies are still stalling over recording a new album amid fears that they may damage their impressive legacy, frontman Black Francis has revealed.

The band reformed to play live shows in 2004, with shows selling out instantly throughout the world. Things have gone so well that the tour continued into 2005, and included a headline slot at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals.

Since the reunion, the band have recorded two songs - 'Bam Thwok', which was rejected for the 'Shrek 2' soundtrack and then released on iTunes, and 'Ain't That Pretty At All', a cover for a Warren Zevon tribute album. And plans to record a brand new album, which would be their first since 1991's 'Trompe Le Monde', have been rumoured for a while.

Francis told Billboard : "I think there are some band members extremely keen to start making a record and there are others who are more cautious because they don't want to mess with the legacy.

"They may be afraid that if we make a mediocre record that it will still come out, because the money has been spent. That's fair enough."

The singer added: "We've decided there is nothing to talk about unless there's some actual songs on the table. In our spare time we'll start to compile some demos, and if they start to sound good, we'll do something."

Meanwhile, the Pixies released a brand new DVD, entitled 'Sell Out' on Monday (October 10), containing a full concert performance and highlights from last year's reunion tour.
