The INHD2 channel on Comcast HD is showing a Pixies concert tonight at 9:00. Well, in Atlanta anyway, not sure about the entire U.S. Sorry if this has already been posted, I haven't read the forum in a while.

Wow, just got this downloaded and watched a portion - SUPERB! Much tighter show than the Austin City Limits performance and of course the vid and audio quality is amazing.

Does anyone know how to join the .ts files ? and play them ?

The check box you're looking for is in the (almost) top right side. And also remember to put the file dimension to the maximum, so you'll get the different parts all as one huge .ts file ( the whole process will take between 3-5 hours I think, it depends on your computer ). Then you can play that file with VLC.

fyi, you can watch .ts files straight with VLC, a great small free universal player.

Wow! Finally got done downloading this(!) and I have to say this exceeded my expectations. Its an above-average show , the camera work and editing were unusually impressive, the video is of course top notch and the audio track is also IMO spectacular. Kim is mixed a little high but I find I actually enjoy it more that way!

This is much better than the DVD, and free to boot! Too bad they cut out In Heaven though.

Tell me something if you make any other conversions.

ok, but if I use hdtvtompeg2 I would get a "regular" dvd in standard definition if I understand well. What I'd like is to watch this show in High Definition ( as soon as I'll be getting a HD tv set and everything )....

Download the program. Select all the ts files. Select ts as output format. Convert. And then you have a big ts file (7.701.086MgB).

Ok, thanks a lot! I'll try this way.

so, if I had a HD Tv set and a pc capable of sending this HD stream to the tv, how would I join these HD files in order to reproduce the show as it was originally broadcast? I mean without converting it to mpeg2.
Thanks if you can help

With HDTVtoMPEG2 you can join files because HDTV2DVD only processes one file.
The result is:
Vídeo : 7800 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 720*480 (2.21:1), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD)
Audio : 384 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 5 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM
So I think the 5.1 is already in the original files and the conversion dont touch it.

TMPGENCDVD dont like the size of mpeg files, and a conversion of 8Gb....
Have anyone get a higher resolution in vobs or in mpegs that TMPGENCDVD accept?

Is that freeze on the original?

And how have you done a 5.1 mix? The original broadcast already had a 5.1 mix...

What program did you use? The conversion has the same bitrates?

is someone going to convert this to a standard dvd? if so, having someone torrent that would probably save a lot of people the trouble of doing the same thing!

If you have the bandwidth and the patience, then I would recommend downloading this and archiving it. I'm sure you will get a HDTV at some point in the future.

You should be able to watch this on your PC (I use mplayer from http://www.mplayerhq.hu but I am guessing that vlc from www.videolan.org/vlc will also play it - both are free and available in Windows, Mac and Linux versions).

Hope you enjoy it - and please continue sharing it after your download has finished. I can't keep seeding it myself forever.

And no, I'm not from Holland. Odd question.... :)

Thanks for the info. Have you tried that program? How well does it work?

The torrent contains the large (about 7GB) .ts file split up into 100MB chunks (that's how it was posted to usenet). This page about HDTV2DVD gives instructions on joining those files together:

I've been uploading at a constant 45KB/s for the last 42 hours - so I'm not sure why you think there are no seeders.

But the tracker does seem to be unreliable (I get lots of timeout errors when trying to connect). But don't worry, I'll keep my window open until I see some other seeders there. We'll get there eventually.

so maybe it's a problem of the tracker, because I just checked the download page again, and it says 0 seeders and 13 leechers...but I'm glad you reassured of all us that you're still there
depixier Posted - 10/19/2005 : 10:29:06
Dont worry about the tracker dont show any seeder. Many times when there are only one seed it doesnt appears but if you look the percent of the distributed copies you will find that it goes bigger. The last time I check it, it changes from 0.546 to 0.584 in 40 minutes aprox.
