First I've heard of this, but, note the "possible."

From a feature on summer tours, in the 3/24 Rolling Stone (Hunter S. Thompson cover):

-----------
WEEZER

After the long-threatened Weezer album comes out in May, Rivers Cuomo and Co. will perform for the first time in three years at Coachella. Weezer then hit the road with possible tourmates the Pixies and, in the fall, Foo Fighters.
-----------

I love the Pixies, I love Weezer, they love the Pixies, I'm there. It would certainly be better than seeing the Pixies with that execrable Datsuns band again.

I think maladriot is at least 3 steps ahead of the green album
but geffen did bitch about maladriot (although that was about marketing)
Weezer knows they have to give them 1 dimensional poppy stuff
beverly hills (the new single) is the lowest point in the career
I expect the album to be much better than that
(it can't get any worse)

they forgot to drop them of their label around '97/'98 when alt.rock wasn't hip anymore
(as in grunge wasn't hip anymore)
so when weezer came back in 2000 they were forced to do a pop album
(lot's of 2000 recordings had to be scrapped)
I read, this is a rumour, that geffen said that with their new album too

Geffen once sued Neil Young because he wasn't Neil Young anymore

believe
if Weezer had been on matador, or even more indie, their albums would have been better
maybe as good as pinkerton or that blue album

can't beat the pixies though

no. geffen had nothing to do with maladroit at all, and it was still awful. weezer recorded it with their own money, and it was awful even before geffen heard it.

Music is a mistake.
We are all wrong.
That is why we die.
And we seem ok with that.

Stereophonics
The Vines
Oasis
U2
Queen
death metal
What the heck

Farewell

even with the weird vocoder
if you really understand it
(nothing against people who won't)
you will know that's a song so great
that the way it's recorded and arranged
doesn't matter

although I have to say that
besides
the drum(machine)
I freakin' love the production

www.weezer.com/news say that it was going to happen, but isnt now happening because of scheduling conflicts. It also says that both bands were into the idea.

Yeah, but they were probabaly right to!A few of his early/mid eighties albums sound well dodgy(Landing On Water, Old Ways). It's a condition known as Dylanitis.

I think that Weezer would demand that the Pixies headlined. They fuckin' adore them.

Um, I kind of like Weezer. I definetly like some of there songs. And they're certainly influenced by the Pixies. I don't know, I would'nt complain about seeing them play together.

Carlos.

welllllll......weezer are booked for coachella, april 30, and pixies for sasquatch, may 28. weezer doesn't end up in germany until june 3, sooooo........and i could see them doing an alternate night type tour, weezer is that sort of band.

You can go eat a decroded piece of crap!
kathryn Posted - 03/15/2005 : 18:43:29
Word, Ziggy.

Let it be resolved ... from now on, the Pixies are always the
main attraction.

Seriously.

I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics

ChessPieceFace, I forgot to thank you for posting this. I apologize if
I came off as rude in my rush to condemn Rolling Stone. Thanks
for posting it!

I have weezer tickets for Birmingham and Brixton

“I want to be a star!” I cried
They said, “You’re overqualified.
Why don’t you learn to tune your damn guitar?”
billgoodman Posted - 03/15/2005 : 07:53:37
I like Weezer a lot
although I'm afraid that the new album would be just a dissapionting
as the Green Album or Maladroit.

Hey, those are still good albums I think
but just not great

Weezer/Pixies would be a dream come true for me

and a nightmare for lots of other people
