Posted - 01/14/2005 : 09:51:39 I found this today whilst looking on the Radio 1 website. It was originally broadcast on 13th Jan 2004, but you can listen to the show from this link.

I have not listened to it all yet but I thought I would post this now in case it's on there for very much longer. It sounds like it's just a glimpse into the world of 4AD and the acts on the label. Could be quite cool.

well actually I have more 4ad records with out the slashes (a back slash is \) than with slashes. And lots of Frank albums of other record companies have the slashes so.........maybe it's a frank thing

Posted - 01/14/2005 : 19:52:13 This is cool. I remember way back when, in the middle of nowhere that 4AD was like the greatest endorsement on a band, almost a good housekeeping seal of approval if you will. You would look for that and because you didn't get any music mags about alt bands, you just guessed and almost always it was good. |

V23 are the in-house designers so this says.

Posted - 01/14/2005 : 11:07:00 Yeah I thought that too, t'would be cool to be signed to the label that the Pixies were on. So long as they treated me well that is.
As for V23, I am not too sure. I know one of their employees (Jo) used to come by here all the time but hasn't been here in ages. She would be able to answer your query.

Posted - 01/14/2005 : 10:27:54 Do you know the relationship between 4AD and V23? Was V23 their in-house graphics team?
every pixie cd has such a visual inlay, FB 4AD too. i appreciated them as much as the music. i have much respect for their work.
if i ever signed to a label, i wish (maybe next year), i would always hope for 4AD for a song or two. |

I still have that cool 4AD catalogue, the small one with greenish paper cover, from a few years back. got many a vinyl and cd from it. |

Posted - 01/14/2005 : 10:06:49 No problem fbc. They have indeed had some quality acts over the years, the Pixies being the greatest of course.
