Frank is interviewed in the January 2005 edition of Mojo
A few quotes are interesting.
Mojo: How did you and Kim bury the hatchet?
FB: Well there wasn't much of a hatchet to bury. Much has been made of the hatchet, but it was just a little teeny tiny hatchet. That's not to say there's no truth in it, but between Kim and I it's almost like a joke.
Mojo: You do seem happy together on stage...
FB: .... Everyone's is just like, 'Woo-hoo! Can you believe how much money we're making!?Woo-hoo! 'Oh, I love you', 'I love you too.'And we do love each other, it's not just because of the money.
Mojo: Any regrets about the reunion tour?
FB: Oh no we love it. If we all didn't have lives and significants and babies about to be birthed, I think everybody would be happy to be perpetually on tour. It suits our personalities and laziness....

seems weird to me I can't imagine the pixies playing 'st.francis dam disaster'

This is discussed in the interview, but it is a bit too long for a ham fisted typist like me to type up, but here is another quote.
Mojo: The last time you toured was supporting U2.
FB: That just added to the malaise. It was not a good thing to do at that time. But I guess it was a good thing, because it caused the band to finally break up and that was probably what we needed. We toured a little too much and we recorded a little too much. We were the best rock band in the world according to these little music papers in England, So of course, every song we do is brilliant! Every gig we play is great! When you can do no wrong you just keep churning it out. We may have not broken up had we just slowed down the pace. |
