Thanks to madtempest, I'm stealing this one off of the pixiesmusic boards. The review is wacky and fairly pointless, but I'm posting it just for the cool picture.

Where's Dave?!?

Pixies Rock Orlando, "Dust" Disney World
by David Iskra, Photo: Kent Phillips | 10.13.2004

Indie-legends the Pixies happily rocked Orlando, then, with even more happiness, visited the Happiest Place on Earth and home of Tinkerbell and her "pixie dust", Disney World. Check out Filter's Review of the show, and enjoy the photo of the band, sans drummer, in front of Cinderella Castle.

The Pixies, Hard Rock Orlando, October 11 - 95%
Pretend you've never read a rock review in your life.
Forget your cynical reflex to question any praise ever heaped upon a band.
No, seriously.
Come on, please?-just this once?
Ok. Good.
The Pixies rocked. Thats it.
Thats all you really need to know.
There's no need for details.
They rocked. They played all their great songs. People danced. The crowd ate it up. There was an encore.
What?
You need more?
What do you want to know?
There were guitars, a bass and drums.
There were cool moving lights too.
Thats it.
It was fun.
Trust me. If they are coming, get tickets. Chances are they are sold out just like every other show but still try. It’s worth it.
Trust me.
Ugggghhhh
You still want a real review?
What's with you people?
Look, there is no other documented instance of a band like this coming back from the dead.
No other band has reformed without losing a shade of what made them great.
This is perhaps the only time in modern rock history when a greatly loved and oft-name checked band has decided to get back together tour and play old music without sounding like has-beens or desperate lonely people trying to regain their past glory-so get out there an enjoy it while it lasts. This is the Haley's comet of Rock. This isn't a Jane's Addiction thing either. This seems like its for real. This may or may not be about diminishing bank accounts but I'll tell you this. They were having fun.
Kim Deal was gushing at the end of the show. Frank looked genuinely shocked when the sold out crowd went bonkers upon his arrival. I've been going to concerts far longer than I've been writing about them and I've never heard a crowd go off like that. This is no lie. I told you to leave the doubting Gen-X thing at the door. People were smiling. When is the last time you saw that? People at concerts as a rule look drunk, stoned or usually just pissed off. I've never seen people my age smiling before, during and after a show.
Smiling!!
People were practically sucked into the undertow from the sea of bass. It was amazing. Ok, I don't know what you want from me. I'm not sure if you are waiting for the punch-line or if you really believe I'm writing this in order for them to sell more tickets. Actually, they can't. The whole tour is sold out. They are playing bigger venues now than when they were first popular. They've become the Eagles of 120 minutes (or Alternative Nation-I can't remember)!!
Go!!
Just go! Either go to the show or go read something else. I have work to do.

Great review, a unique perspective, and it's simple truth chimes well with how I feel/felt seeing them.

i think it's a cool review - it just says it all. i don't think it's pointless, much more i think it rather hits the point:

> The Pixies rocked. Thats it.
> People at concerts as a rule look drunk, stoned or usually just pissed off. I've never seen people my age smiling before, during and after a show.

and, it is a pixies-review witout mentioning kurt cobain !

the more i think about it, the more i think this writer really gets what pixies & frank black is about. give him a medal.
