I'm Not Dead (I'm In Pittsburgh) is, well... dead. Or in Pittsburgh. It's not on the list anymore anyway.

01 If Your Poison Gets You
02 Johnny Barleycorn
03 Fast Man
04 You Can't Crucify Yourself
05 Dirty Old Town
06 Wanderlust
07 Seven Days
08 Raider Man
09 End of Summer
10 Dog Sleep
11 When the Paint Grows Darker Still
12 I'm Not Dead (I'm in Pittsburgh)
13 Golden Shore

Pick your least favorite track. My vote still goes to The End Of The Summer.

Oh. Sorry. I guess Denis doesn't have the authority to do it. Now that I realize he doesn't, I understand how it would be a pain. (It's just that it would suck to have everyone voting on the wrong round once someone accidentally moves an old one to the top.)

nope, too much work and once we move to the next round voting etc after the fact does nothing.

Shouldn't these threads be locked when we move to the next round?

Sorry folks, I love the fact that everyone is here to cast off a song they do not like, (But approaching), however, the love of different Frank tunes changes day to day. How about a contest where if "Jet" or "the strokes" ever write a better tune than Frank, then vote.

"for Dirty Old Town" as in "against End of Summer", right?

Put my vote for Dirty Old Town.

That's a tie between Dirty Old Town and End Of Summer. We'll need one more vote.

Denis

For me it's between 'The End of the Summer' and 'When the Paint Grows Darker Still'. Whichever I don't vote now I will in the next round anyway.

'The End of the Summer' to go.

It's La Sicilienne btw. (Another french typo for Frank !)

Speaking of which, didn't we have a rule that the person running the Survivor wouldn't vote right away since those first votes tend to steer others esp. strategic ones? Not that anything is hinging on this outcome, but...

As for End of Summer, I really don't hear what you guys do as far as the vocals go. I wouldn't classify the song as mellow, but rather moody. The music is also very interesting technically, and I think it's a brilliant adaptation of Le Sicilenne.

I agree with the others that don't like the vocal on that song. I also think that first album gets a little too mellow through the second half and this song goes in lockstep with that (besides Dog Sleep, which sticks out rather radically).

Democracy, or some semblance of it, will rule in the end.

I know the man has chilled and slowed down through time, but honestly, this sort of thing (imo) doesn't suit the Black. I offer the vocals as evidence #1. I try and imagine myself listening to this at a gig, and all I can think of is how bored I would be. And it's Frank Black, which saddens me a little. So much so, I think I might vote again. Yeah, in fact I will.

I evict End of Summer.

Thank heaven for selective hearing.

The vocals sound like karaoke.

Golden Shore: The chorus reminds me of one of those holding hands We Are The World For The Sake Of The Children mantras.

Listening to it right now... I hate the little guitar thingie right after the 2nd line of each verse ("sinks in the mud to decay" WAH WAH... yuck!). The whole instrumentation is super-bland, nothing ever happens, it manages to be even more boring than Seven Days. And that organ solo... it's terrifyingly bad. I feel like I'm listening to a Sting record. In fact I feel dirty. Urgh!

There's no way Dirty Old Town will go before End of Summer. I'll tamper with the votes if necessary.
