Posted - 06/11/2005 : 10:43:12 This is the best non-Frank related album I've ever heard, but if I had to get rid of one it would have to be Subterranean Homesick Alien of The Tourist. Nothing wrong with them but they don't feel like as hard a slap in the face as the rest of the album. And Fitter Happier is a masterpiece.

Posted - 01/30/2005 : 05:47:34 and you felt you had to start a brand new thread for this? I mean did you even read through this one? It's a survivor game for christs sake, whittling the songs down to a favourite, no one found it easy and starting radiohead thread after radiohead thread won't get you relevent answers it'll just get people annoyed!
And true fans? you didn't even know his name for heavens sake so are in no position to measure fans against each other. Which seems an odd thing to do in the first place if you ask me. Check out the other radiohead survivor threads, you'll see on OK computer paranoid android won the game, which is hardly the most accesible song in itself so your theories are a bit off kilter here.

Posted - 11/06/2004 : 10:01:04 Nahhh, a name or a band explicit symbol isn't the right choice. I just imagine myself: 13 years and a Roxette tattoo to hide for all my life.

Posted - 11/06/2004 : 09:23:36 yeah, I wouldn't actually get a tattoo with a band name on it, I did consider the winged P once, I don't think I'll ever go off the pixies but just in case.
Sorry I confused you there xavier

Posted - 11/06/2004 : 09:16:36 Fuck! You said cover and I was looking at front and back covers in all possible ways. And it's quite a baroque cover, so it took me my time.
It's cool that it says nothing about Radiohead. You are demon-proof now. Very practical if you use to fight against zombies and stuff.

Open up the case remove the CD and it's there, the only picture I can find is too huge to paste:

Posted - 11/06/2004 : 00:34:18 Sorry for my stupidness, but where's that star, Tre? Front cover? Is it possible that I've got a reprise with another cover? I can't find it and I'm starting to get nervous.
For the Thom Yorke question: No. I reserve all my hatred for Bono.

Posted - 11/05/2004 : 12:44:02 story time:
when I was a young girl I had the misfortune of missing radiohead support tears for fears so it was around the time of the bends that I got into them. Where I lived and went to school and the way my upbringing was it was hard for me to get to hear now music let alone buy it. I only managed to get the bends (on tape) because in woolworths it had been thrown into a reduced bin and marked up the wrong price (being poor we knew all about consumers rights and trade acts and are willing and able to quote them at poor bedazzled retail staff) so thus my love of radiohead began. Paranoid Android came out in my last year of high school, which I adored, and we went to see radiohead (my dad took me) and it was great. I got the tattoo, my dad got it as a present for passing my GCSE's. It doesn't say radiohead or anything on it by the way.
Now reasons you should feel sorry for Thom Yorke. The hard core fans are certifiable lunatics, LUNATICS. When I was at college I went to see Thom Yorkes brothers (Andy Yorke) band the unbelievable truth. They were pretty good, and garralous girl that I be I got talking to a few people at the gig, chatted to the band and made a couple of friends. They invited me (these girls I met) to come to a festival in oxford. We went it was great saw a lot of fierce panda bands, (Beaker, fucking rocked) saw the usual oxfordites wandering around (Gaz Coombs, hello!) it was a really good day. This girl I met fot the first time at the festival organised the accomodation, a youth hostel in headington. There were a couple of youth hostels I wasn't sure why she picked this one, it was WAY out really. So being young girls we got a bit larky and stole this huge billboard from the festival (an unbelievable truth one) backing and all and lugged it home. We're walking down the main road to the hostel and this girl, we shall call her E, made us do a detour, still lugging this board to get to the hostel. Turns out this detour took us right past Thom Yorkes house. Stalker or what, we went mental when we realised what she had done. It wasn't the last time she did it either, I lived in oxford for a while and one new year she wanted us to go to this party. I met her and spent the evening trying to calm her down, she got so wasted and disappeared. I knew where to find her and sure enough sat outside Thom Yorke's house without a top on crying like an idiot. What a great new years eve that was!
And also feel sorry for him because I once accidentaly insulted him. I'd gone to fetch a friend and was getting off the train at oxford station when the girl I was with went white and pointed to this man stood next to me, she whispered ---thats thom yorke that is--- I looked, and went UH, NO, THAT GUY IS WAY TOO SHORT TO BE THOM YORKE, which is when "that guy" turned around and scowled at me, because it blatantly was mister yorke. He looked less fucked off after my beetroot faced apology though to give him his dues.
And he does try hard you know, with the free tibet stuff.
Give the guy a chance

3rd Annual Australian Frank Black Countdown August 2003 - all involved parties rank EVERY released FB song from FB self/titled to the present - average ranks are calculated - beer (or suitable substitute) is added (mostly in drinking-game form - ie. rate a song well below its average and you drink a punishing amount), then sit back and enjoy a day of frank black....the only problem is quite often memory of the top songs is somewhat limited the next day |
