Posted - 09/30/2004 : 10:38:03 ct- that would probably be Devil's Workshop.
benji- didn't mean to come off sounding judgmental, sorry if i did. Though I think "Pod" is a fine album indeed, Kim Deal's songwriting just doesn't have Frank's beat. It's all opinion anyway... |

Posted - 09/30/2004 : 10:03:05 yeah, i do think Pod is better than any of franks for the reasons i stated. just personal preference, and hardly expected it to be common round here. but the album just strikes me as absolutely fantastic. not many beat it in my opinion.
as for least fav franks, it'd have to be the first catholics album with cult of ray 2nd..

man, you must be out of your mind...'Pod' is damn good, but I haven't listened to it nearly as many times as even my least favorite FB solo album! |

Posted - 09/30/2004 : 05:37:01 I haven't bought 'Pod', I admit. 'Lash Splash' has some great moments, and 'Title TK' is probably my fave.
'Off You', a beautiful song, is spoilt by that strange feedback sound near the beginning. It hurts. |

Posted - 09/30/2004 : 04:55:58 the only thing i don't like about pod is the sound level on it. you really have to turn it up to hear it properly, so when i record it onto minidisc its just not loud enough. ...then when you play last splash afertwards its like BAM!!! the fucking walls start to shake cos the volume is all the way up |

Last Splash is quite good too, but nowhere near the brilliance of pod, and title tk is just uneven - some absolute crackers, but some stinkers too.

I wondered when someone was going to admit to this. As good as Pod and Title TK are (and they ARE), Last Splash is easily the best.

Posted - 09/29/2004 : 12:42:12 pod did sound alot more lively and boucy than title tk!
i love it now! i like then way she doesnt edit/prosess her voice...it sounds raw and natural and honest. its send shivers down my spine...i love it...
its alot deeper than pod...pod is a good album to have a good time but when you grow up and want think about what it all means or want something to console you...then title tk!
if i had a girlfriend who wrote me a song like that she would so me doted over.... |

whoreatthedoor, for new Breeders stuff, check out the 7" released with Title TK(forget the name). It has the Theme to Buffy on it and it is intramental. It's not new, but it was not on TK. IT is always on ebay for about $1.

I'll check it. Thanks!

Posted - 09/29/2004 : 09:52:28 I dig Title TK way more than Pod Off You is so beautiful and I like the arrangements on Title TK more On Pod it sounded too much Surfer Rosa to me while Title TK has a different feel to it just my idea though I don't get the whole Pod praising it's certainly a great album but not a thousand times better than TK I can't compare those to Last Splash though it's on another wave length probably the biggest selling 4ad album

Posted - 09/29/2004 : 08:31:54 Although the Breeders never did much for me, I really like Title TK. Overall it's good fun and "Off You" does get under my skin. I also own Pod and Last Splash but honestly I've never paid them much attention. I know, I'll work on it, I promise.

Posted - 09/29/2004 : 08:22:15 I'm not looking for new stuff, just on in a (maybe stupid) vintage vinyl fever. I'm buying again my fave records on vinyl. A waste of money? I'm really enjoying it!

Posted - 09/29/2004 : 03:00:40 I don't know. Beware though: there are no unreleased songs on it, it's just 3 songs from the album. I think it's got Off You on A-side and Little Fury + The She on the other. Just for the die-hard fans then, but the object itself is wonderful.

Posted - 09/28/2004 : 17:10:52 Title TK lacked ideas. Pod was brilling with them, so much in fact they spilled over to the brilliant Safari EP and Last Splash. |

Posted - 09/28/2004 : 15:07:48 i don't know, i always prefered tk, just had a calmer feel to it, wasn't trying to be like the pixies were, it seemed more honest, more like the music they wanted to do... maybe i'm just reading too much into it, but i do prefer title tk.

Posted - 09/28/2004 : 14:57:20 Its inferior to pod, but still better then a lot of alternative records. I like it quite a bit. Bam Thwok would have fit right in with these songs. God bless America and God bless the sisters Deal! Four more years, four more years! |

Posted - 09/28/2004 : 14:37:02 Now I know I need only dig up title tk if I wish to be complete.
Pod is a balm.
Do you know how fun it was to be a guy in a band and get to sing (and play) "When I Was A Painter" and "Limehouse"? Do you? Very fucking fun, thats how fun. It was very fun indeed.
