What do you think of it?
lyrics I had me a vision There wasn't any television From looking into the sun Looking into the sun
We got to think quick Says blind St. Nick hey From looking into the sun Looking into the sun
We got to get some beer We got no atmosphere From looking into the sun Looking into the sun
I had me a vision There wasn't any television From looking into the sun.

Posted - 09/27/2004 : 15:00:27 Yrs ago, when FB interviews were few and far between and the Internet was just gettin revved up, my geetar teacher found a looong FB Q&A circa 1st solo album, and they discuss the songs on that and Trompe Le Monde at length. Anyone else seen this one?
Anyhow, he went into how D=RxT was about lessening fascination with cosmos and whatnot due to TV, electricity, whatnot. Decline in spirituality, y'know? The quote I always remember is "I love TV, but I hate it, too."
Regardless, its a rocker. Like it when he gets all mush-mouthed at the end. Very funny. |

I especially like the production of the song. But I also like the original version mixed with subbacultcha.

Olá Cassandra! What is the name of your band?
I like his shoes, I like his hat, I´d like me better if I looked like that... |

that's easy. you got your abbrev. wrong.
d = r x t distance equals rate times time.
rate = velocity d = distance t = time
And velocity is essentially the same as speed.
quote: That's the song he cannibalised 'I've Been Tired' for.
You must mean "Subbacultcha." I don't see any similarity between "D=RxT" and "Tired."

Posted - 09/23/2004 : 09:46:15 That's the song he cannibalised 'I've Been Tired' for. It's not the greatest Pixies track, but I like the open chords he uses. Personally, I feel it's about how being happy and optimistic all the time can be boring. Maybe it's healthy to sit in front of the TV with a few beers every now and then!!
Oh right, sorry 'Subbaculture'! |

Posted - 09/23/2004 : 09:32:31 Ok, if FB's tour bus leaves Portland at 1100 am PST and drives to New York City...and Willie Nelson's tour bus leaves Memphis and drives to Minneapolis, can they meet to do a show together? ...and at the SAME time, can Bowie leave Heathrow and make it to the show? who would open? See, there's a lot to think about with this song... |

Posted - 09/22/2004 : 16:09:25 Distance does indeed equal rate times time. That occurred to me as Jefrey with one F drove away.

Posted - 09/21/2004 : 13:25:18 About a year ago I made my own Pixies t-shirt with a white undershirt, and a Sharpie. I put the Trompe-era P on the front and below that wrote "We got to think quick, Says blind St. Nick hey." I thought it was pretty cool.

Posted - 09/20/2004 : 23:14:38 Awesome track, great off the cuff lyrics. Love the way he screams "from lookin into the su-uun". Ah the joy of Trompe Le Monde. |

Posted - 09/20/2004 : 16:43:23 This is a pretty good song. Not one of the best, but fun, even if the lyrics don't seem to mean much of anything. I also think it has a cool title, which ties it in with "Space (I Believe In)."

Posted - 09/20/2004 : 06:35:14 Great little punk tune
Kim's backing "ahhh-ahhhh's" really add something special to this song too...give it a far more ethereal quality.
I love it. short and ferocious plus the lyrics are great. |
