Quote from an article at Alec Eiffel i just read:

"Kim is a voracious player and I admired her for her willingness to get up and jam, playing songs without rehearsing them if necessary. She was a busy woman and we never had a chance to rehearse, but I made up a set of ten songs that she could jam with us on that were all either one, two or three chords. "Low Rider", "Pablo Picasso" and "Rocking Shoppin Center" were among the numbers she played bass on, but the undisputed, all-time favorite Kim request was for her to sing Hot Chocolate's "I Believe in Miracles". Kim sang this in the sort of sweet waiflike voice that you'd expect from some slutty teenage Lolita who had died, become an angel and got a nightclub gig".

sorry guys. just had a Kim adoration moment. You can just hear that voice singing that song.

Yey Kim!

I think kim is really hot. She's got that cute hard-rockin bass-playin thing about her...of course I admit any girl who's a good rocknroller is hot in my book. but kim is particularly hot. i loove her black hair.

"I Believe In Miracles" by Joe Harvard & the Troublemakers, with vocals by Kim Deal of the Pixies, JH on guitar, Greg Mahoney on bass and Richie "Cunningham" Madallo on drums. Recorded live at the Middle East Restaurant, 5/88. Audio from a video shot by Artie Friedman. Written and originally recorded by Hot Chocolate."

There you go.

Slightly off the topic, but another cool Kim moment..

Kim and Kelley were doing record signing in a tiny little record store where I live. (Last splash era). So only four people were allowed in at a time and Kim and Kelley were behind the counter big herbal cigar sized cigarettes in mouths signing away... so there was a girl in front of me, and she hands Kim a CD inlay to sign - Kim screams out 'This is a PJ Harvey CD!!', girl say - 'Could you just sign it anyway, I had no time to find my breeders stuff!" Kim is like, I dunno.. ok... so she signs it and the girl walks out of shop... Kim turns to Kelley.. "She’ll get a nice surprise... I signed it PJ Harvey!! and then they fell around the place laughing, so much so that I had to wait a few minutes smiling at them until they composed themselves and got aback signing again. So someone somewhere has a very unique PJ Harvey record…

It's an awesome cover indeed. I'm planning on covering it with my band, Kim Deal version.
