Posted - 07/19/2004 : 14:37:58 Debaser is my nickname everywhere else on the net (thought it might be too cliche here)
I also forgot another awesome tune...The Sad Punk!

Posted - 07/19/2004 : 11:56:07 I agree that Debaser is their landmark song. Their trademark song. It is also one of their best, even if it is the song I hear the most when I am away from my house.

Posted - 07/19/2004 : 05:03:57 Tame is an unbelievable song. You think you've heard the best of the screaming, then he gets to the screaming at the end, where he like bends his voice upwards. I just get so pumped i want to punch someone!

Posted - 07/17/2004 : 16:06:07 I'll have to agree that "Where Is My Mind?" definitely stands out among the Pixies' work. "Velouria" is also a stand-out, and probably my favorite (although "Motorway To Roswell" comes close). Both WIMM and "Velouria" have such a grand, awesome quality to them. Just totally amazing songs.

Posted - 07/17/2004 : 05:40:08 mine wud have to be - Velouria. That song needs more credit i think. Everyone says its too poppy and fake but to me its very pixies, and one of the best songs they ever did. |

Posted - 07/17/2004 : 04:55:40 The Frank Black and the Catholics gig in the Melkweg, Amsterdam from last year did me realise how great Caribou is. I kind of rediscovered the song.
From the great intro which sets the mood of the song, to the great great verse, to the Repent!!! chorus which is based on an unbelievable chord progression. These chords are so incredibly awesome, every time I play them I wish I evented the G D# B# B-C# part followed by the D# B C# triplets! Absolutely the best!
But yeah, Where is my mind? is the song I've heard the most in all these years, and I still can listen to it, and love it every time I hear it. I prefer the way the Catholics play it live above the Pixies' version i think
I'm bored with the valleys and bored by the peaks. So I bought a ticket to the Pixies |

Posted - 07/17/2004 : 03:33:13 I was thinking about it yesterday. And it's quite strange:
If you ask me what's my fave Pixies song, I'll say "River Euphrates". If you ask me what's my second favorite Pixies song, I'll say "Hey". If you ask me what's my third favorite Pixies song, I'll say "Something against you", or "Letter to memphis" or "Holiday song" or "Down to the Well" or...
But after all, I rate "Where is my mind" over all these songs. This song is out of any contest. But if you ask me now what's my fave Pixies song, I'll say "River Euphrates" again .

Posted - 07/16/2004 : 22:25:29 How can it not be "Where is My Mind?" especially if you've fallen asleep watching any part of the Pixies DVD. What you're watching ends and it goes back to main menu where for the next four or five hours you're passed out the opening of "Where is my Mind?" plays endlessly. You wake up and it's like you can't escape that little bit of music.
