Today's random song of the day is Evil Hearted You

What do you think of it?

lyrics

translation
Evil hearted you, you always try to put me down,
With the things you do and words you spread around against me.

Evil hearted you,
You kept kidding me along
With your phony smile and with your siren song,
Smiling, beguiling, you lead me on 'til all hope is gone,
Persuading, degrading, on my knees I try to please you.

But I love you just the same and I want you to remain,
By my side and you'll see just how much you mean to me..

Evil hearted you,
you always try to put me down,
With the things you do
And the words you spread around against me, about me.

What would you do without me, smiling, beguiling.
You lead me on 'til all hope is gone

Have you seen her car? Eight-track is the latest! How about the Yardbirds? Jeff Beck is the greatest!

Frank's spanish isn't too great in this one. The lyrics are way off. But then again, he said he only dabbled in it, and just picked up enough to get by while he was in Puerto Rico. But Frank shouldn't get all the blame. Graham Gouldman obviously didn't proofread it too well.

The music is good. They keep the original Yardbirds' feel. Joey adds his signature touch to the solo, which is cool.

I prefer the Yardbird's version. Keith Relf does the vocal very well, and Jeff Beck's solo is great. The Yardbirds' original release of the song is IMHO one of the greatest singles ever released. "Evil Hearted You" b/w "Still I'm Sad". 2 sad songs, but they kick ass!!!

Thatīs right! People should start listening more songs in other languages, spanish, portuguese, italian, french ...
And, by the way, Evil Hearted You is great! I like very much all Pixies songīs in spanish, maybe because itīs a bit simillar to Portuguese...

... Iīm learning!...

Absolutely love this one, the vocals are softly sang and understated and the guitar work is really operatic at points. Kind of dreamy and surfy, but then crunching aswell. What band in existance has such blinding b-sides? The b-sides album is better than most bands finest work.

I tend to be rather lyric-oriented, so it makes sense that I mostly prefer songs where I understand the lyrics. I don't know Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, or French. (I know a little German, but not enough to really understand lyrics to German songs.) That doesn't mean I'm not open to good foreign-language music, though.

It's a good B-Side, but not one of their best. I'd say it's one of my lesser-faves.

This is one of my prefered songs of Pixies, by far....it's wonderfull understand at the first time every word that frank sings...

For you guys, that your mother tongue is english, listen a song in other language must be weird, but you can feel and enjoy the music in their primitive way...with the vibrations and feelings that the song makes on you.

Not one of my faves. I'm surprised to read the lyrics for the first time. I missed at least half of them. At the time of that song, Francis spanish was too bad. I supose his spanish songs are more attractive to english or american people.

Not one of my favorites, but I have to admit that there's a certain charm in a foreign-language version of a song sung by someone who doesn't even speak that language very well.

Better than the Yardbird's version. Interesting, but not up there with their very best tunes.

never really rated it, but fine for a b-side cover.

I love this song, I think it might be my favourite Spanish song that they do. I can only imagine the ire such a statement will raise...

One of the best Pixes covers. ...and it should be considered on their setlists. ;)
For any spanish spoken people this song is killer.

Not a huge fan of this one, but its okay to listen to occasionally. One of the few Pixies B sides that should remain B sides.
