Posted - 06/24/2004 : 09:06:37 I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with my post but that's what I feel : I went to the Pixies Gig on Monday June 7th and was disappointed by their performance : of course the played very great songs but it was as if Bossanova and Trompe le monde had not existed (from this 2 brilliant albums, only velouria and u-mass were played). Moreover I did not really enjoy the way they played : no passion, no surprise. (for example, the guitar solo in Vamos:terrible)
I went to see the Catholics 4 times, and each time it was huge!! That's why I think I gonna miss them!! |

Posted - 07/01/2004 : 05:29:34 Yea i kinda miss them aswell, i mean im really glad the pixies are back because their so damn good. But theirs something about seing Frank and the C's in a small dirty bar somwehere playing rock and roll tunes thats very fun. Im really looking forward to hearing franks new ablum, i bet its gona be amazing like all his other work. Nashvill recording, multi track, experienced musicians, gona be good. How bout if the world could have both bands??? |

Posted - 06/29/2004 : 18:07:08 I was afraid the Pixies wouldn't be as they should be when they reunited. But I've downloaded some of their shows (Brixton) off the net (legally even!), and my fears proved unnecessary. They're still like the Pixies and, thus, rule all.
Anyway, I want Frank/Francis/Charles to do whatever the hell he wants to do. He hasn't let me down yet. Granted, there were times I thought he had (Pixies breaking up), but things always worked out fine--the solo career churned lots of different but, at times, equally cool songs.
Anyway, file me in the group of Frank Black completists that liked the Catholics a great deal but is jazzed about the Pixies reunion. |

Posted - 06/28/2004 : 13:44:55 The Pixies reunion did not excite me either, but Frank must travel his own path. When the Catholics get back together, it'll be even sweeter. Let's hope he gets the Pixie-thing out of his system. |

I just hope they come back. We'll see...
