I donīt know what happened to you, but before the concert I was very anxious, couldīt wait untill the day!
But now that Iīve already saw it, Iīm feeling like it was to short! That it just passed like an instant in time!
And I am so sad to think that maybe it was the first and the last time Iīve had the opportunity to see them all together live!
Since then I canīt listen to other music! Is this some kind of Pixies disease?

Jesus, I am getting afraid to go to see them next tuesday! Seeing McLusky play also nearly started an addiction!

Well we all get in our Pixies fixes, I know I have, but more lately I'll end up on Catholics stuff if you guys want a breath of fresh air in a current band that is absolutely brilliant buy the new mclusky album "the difference between me and you is i'm not on fire"

Luckily I am gonna see them again at V Festival. After that I will no doubt be depressed.

Althogh I do have my Disclive CD of Brixton now. Cool!

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Sorry you're right - I did take it the wrong way........although the Pixies are the best band in the world!!! Oh alright - the Clash are pretty good too!

They really are the best band in the world! For ME of course!
But we are lucky to have Frank Black giving us such a good music!
(I like The Clash a lot! canīt say the same about REM, but I respect that)

You're taking it too long, unchienandalou. We're not saying that. I don't think the Pixies are the best band in the world. They're for ME the best band, but if you say R.E.M., The Clash, or whatever, I'll respect it.

I agree totally with your view on modern music - it doesn't quite measure up. But are we just a bit set in our ways or even a bit arrogant....there was a Cambridge scholar in the 60's called Frank Leavis who believed that there was only one outstanding talent in any cultural field e.g Wagner wrote the best operas so there was no point in listening to anyone else, Dostoevsky wrote the best novels etc etc. Alot of people believed him but many others considered his stance to be a fascist one......are we doing the same thing??

I've been getting Pixies et al fixes since 94. I try new music but nothing really sticks. Maybe an REM album here, or a White Stripes album there and even Queens of the Stone Age for good measure. They are all fair, but just don't measure up to the Pixies. Even when I get to listen to a descent radio station (DC101) it seems they are always playing Blink 182 or Sum 41 or System of a Down. By the way those last two bands are the worst bands I have EVER heard.

I too am now an addict. (That felt good!!)

Since I saw them at Brixton a couple of weeks ago I have:

1. Joined this forum.

2. Noticed that my mp3 player has gone from having a fair mix of music to being completely full of Pixies songs.

3. Suffered increasing anxiety about seeing them at T in the Park in a couple of weeks - will I get near the front etc etc?

4. Started worrying both my wife and close friends, who up until now thought I was only loopy when drunk, instead of consistently out of kilter with the rest of the universe.

But in a moment of clarity I have decided to give myself up to this addiction and enjoy it while it lasts. Instead of forming a support group I say we form a bona fide cult, live on a commune and pool our money with a view to paying Frank, Kim etc to play private shows for us.....

Anyone up for it??

Contagious disease. The same for me. I tried a "My Bloody Valentine + David Bowie" (strong drugs...) therapy but it doesn't work.

If it's a Chronic addiction, these are bad news. Or not.
I'm sure of the fact that Frank is building an army with us in his evil project to rule the World. Or fool the world, maybe.

About Madredeus, they are great!!! Some of the wonderful songs ever. I was affraid to say that here 'cause this is supossed to be a rock forum. But I'm sure nobody here is stupid enough to get angry with me for this.

Yes, yes! we won yesterday!
Madredeus is very good! glad you know them!
My husband already told me to go to some group addict, something like AA, but PA, "pixies addict"!
If you only started 2 years ago, soon youīll understand that youīll be addict forever! I think Frank Black has some kind of power(maybe he hipnotised all of us)!
We were all caugth!

I've never been in an addiction like this. Usually I start to hate music when I hear it many times, but this is not happening now. I've met the Pixies and FB too late, about two years ago, but this feeling has been growing on me since the first day I hear "Something against you". A Manta Ray secondary effect???

P.S.: I've noticed that I knew some other Portuguese words, but they come from Madredeus and Dulce Pontes lyrics... Wait a moment!!!, What am I talking about? You damn portuguese boys, give us our European Cup!!!

I think we need to start some kind of group counselling:

"My name is Steve, and I am a Pixies addict. It started off small, couple of surfer rosa's a day, occasional hit of Trompe. By the end I was playing all 4 albums simultaneously whilst watching the Velouria video on continous repeat..."

Yes, itīs really that! Iīm beggining to feel insane. Iīm really between the Pixies and Frank Black. I listen all the time, canīt stop! My family canīt stand it already!
i even took the CDs out of the car to try NOT to listen!
But Iīve put them back already!

I feel the same. And I'm in the Pixies insanity too!!! I can't listen to something else. I'm in a Pixies, Breeders, Frank Black spiral that I can't leave. Last week I thought: "Well, this madness have to end, now" And I took my Pixies related CD's out of my car and put on "OK Computer". This week I've got Title TK, A DiscLive CD, The Purple Tape and Trompe le Monde. And below all these CD's, is my "OK Computer" copy. I'm sorry, Thom, but... What can I do???
