I like Wild Honey Pie a lot, but the best for me is Head on

Cohen's I can't forget is way better than the Pixies version. I love that song.

Pixies does Winterlong better than Neil Young. Also a great song.

I'll go with 'In Heaven' but with Kim singing.

I absolutely cannot stand 'Winterlong' and that they are playing it on tour - I would rather sub that one and stick 'Manta Ray' in gladly!

Man, I love 'I Can't Forget', the dichotomy of Black and Kim's voices just shine on this one.

Winterlong. Excellent harmony between Frank and Kim on that one. "Head On" comes close, though. Both better than the originals.

This is a good criteria to choose the best cover, so I choose In Heaven. Kim or Francis version, it doesn't matter. Both are great.

Oh man, on that DVD hearing them scream HOOOOOOOONEY PIE, makes me fall in love with the band all over again.

Did someone say they covered a Leonard Cohen song? I love Leonard Cohen! Which one?

I hate I cant forget, ruggish. but its a toss up between Cecilia Ann and winterlong, when they played the opening chord to that in brixton, well then I knew it was something special.

Winterlong OR In Heaven -- Kim version is faithful, Frank version is a creepy flipside that exposes the perverse David Lynch subtext of it all.
the thing Posted - 06/15/2004 : 15:41:45
Toss up between Head On and Winterlong, but brownie points definetely go to Wild Honey Pie for totally outstripping the original track

I'm with you babe... Wild Honey Pie has to be the best cover I've heard. I would go with Born in Chicago, but I haven't heard the original yet. Who does the original?

In my defense... I'm just sayin'
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 06/15/2004 : 11:30:59
It has to be Wild Honey Pie. I love it even more 'cos it sounds absolutely NOTHING like the original.

Listen to Nine Black Alps.

Definitely Winterlong. I've never heard the original version by Neil Young, but the way they do it is so great, why would I wanna hear the original version?

Catch ya later, Bill and Ted!
