Hrmmm.... actually have a different song by a different band in mind for a funerary tune... but if I changed my mind and went with the Pixies instead, I would have to probably go with:

CACTUS

i think i'd like where is my mind (both the last song i hear and at my funeral). or maybe 'hey' - or if i was going out with a bang, maybe bone machine, yep, yep, YEP! no wait! motorway to roswell! all the way! motorway to roswell being last song i hear and at my funeral! would be lovely. get a decent PA system set up...

"last night he could not make it, he tried hard but he could not make it" - bit of a tear-jerker right there at my funeral.

I am my only god, ha ha ha ha ha ha

before I'll die I'll take my home and pack it up to arizona

Havalina is going to played at my funeral
but as for the last song I hear before I die
'Out with a Bang' by John B. Spencer
or a song that would literately by banging when I go out

The Sad Punk.

I also like "Hope" by the Descendents.
rockmusic84 Posted - 06/03/2004 : 20:13:04
If it were possible, I'd love to have Frank and Rich play "Coastline" at my funeral. As for a Pixies song, probably "Havalina". No real reason, other than it sounds beautiful (Kim singing "Arizona" makes the song!), and it was a fitting end to an album, why not a fitting end to my life?

But what I REALLY want is Roger Waters (by this time VERY old) to play "Goodbye Cruel World", as they're lowering me into the ground...

"Goodbye
Goodbye
GOOODBYE."

The ULTIMATE way to go out. :)

Back on topic, I would choose Here Comes Your Man just because it's a message to God to let him know I'm on my way!!!

Brixton Academy has a capacity of 3700. Am I meant to go jabbing hundreds of such groupings before I get to you guys? Wear a boyband t-shirt and then I'll be sure ;-)

The way I put it to my friends and colleagues was that I hadn't been this excited since the first time I thought I was about to die when climbing; no greater compliment can be paid to Charles, Kim, Joey and Dave.

Have a great time anyway; I have a slight niggling suspicion that you will!

gosh you are a very lucky man, i'm more excited than i've ever been about anything, i think, and i'm only seeing them the once! i don't think i'll stop talking about it for a long, long time.

if you see a short girl with blondeish hair (probably squealing like a boyband-loving teenager) with a short boy and another short girl (amazing description there) poke me!

Peter Walker Posted - 06/03/2004 : 06:56:09
The demographic was quite mixed, to be honest. All ages; and this was one gig where I knew I wouldn't have to worry about being the oldest person there ;-)

32 eh? i'm scared that on saturday at brixton everyone will be 30-40 and looking at me like "oi, you're not old enough to like pixies, go home little girl", and i will cry into my cornflakes :(

or that i'll be squashed and unable to move/see anything, hurrah for being 5ft2 :/
vilainde Posted - 06/03/2004 : 06:24:14
I'd rather play a Frank Black song actually. Let's say The Black Rider...

Just kidding. I think Fields Of Marigold would fit, plus it's one of my fave songs from DW.

Well, both my parents used bloody Neil Diamond, and my sis is into Craig David and Duran Duran for when the time comes; somebody has to give my family a vague legacy of taste, don't they? ;-)

Partly because I love it, but largely because I'd just love to see the look on the faces of those assembled.
la muneca Posted - 06/03/2004 : 05:36:55
bone machine, because then my last moments would've been full of joy and giddiness :D you're so PRETTY when you're unfaithful to meh!

Well there's a cheery thought! Actually that one's easy - In Heaven (Kim Version) segued into Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf). Be quite nice if the band would show up and sing it too.

Anyway, I thought that signing up to this forum granted you immortal life everlasting?
