I know there are a lot of pixies's fans in latinoamérica. in Perú pixies are a kind of cult band. i heard some songs at the early 90s with some wave friends who like to explore with new bands, and one friend told me one day something about one tape with a monkey art in the front, i heard that pushing tape, and then he took his tape and disapear. then, 4 or 5 years later, one punky guy play a doolitle songs, and i recognize the sound. i bought the bossanova and one girlfriend make me a present with the doolitle cd. step by step i bought all the cds of Pixies. Here, in Perù, it`s very hard to get them, but if you met the right man, at the right moment, you can. i decide, this year, to hear them live, and my sister, his boyfriend and i, went to Coachella to hear Pixies, Radiohead and The Cure, always, we discovered The Rapture, great band. was an amazing experience and now, if i keep the bucks to, i will go to the Berkeley second show. i hope so. lucky guys, four days later, Interpol plays at the warfield, so, two birds with one shot.

sloy, yeah Perù is a fantastic place, with an enormous diversity of landscapes, cultures and rich archeological monuments. Well, i hope that i could go to france one day, i love rimbaud, péret, proust, etc, and i know some places but only because i read their books. i`m anthropologist, and i lived three years with one tribe of the forest. to not go faraway from our theme... i played, with my camp tape recorder, one tape with songs of smiths, the cure and the pixies to friends of this tribe... they like some melodies of smiths, a forest of the cure and the joeys guitar at Hey. ja, intercultural issues.
i know, it`s easy that the pixies play first in mexico than perú.
