in velouria, what is kim singing at the end?

Is it like today? Oh, oh, oh-oh. Then there followed days with kings, empires and revolutions. blood just looks the same when you open the veins. sometimes it was faith, power or reason as the cornerstone. but the furrowed brow has never left his face. he said, how did it come to this?

I'd never heard the "first base, second base, third base, home run!" in La La Love You until last year sometime.

I've never heard the AOTW thing! I think I'll have a listen....

I wanna go to the moon. I wanna do this duet with Morrissey.....

I love discovering new things in Pixies songs. It took me years before noticing there were background vocals in Planet Of Sound singing "This ain't the planet"... I used to listen to TLM on a tape and the sound wasn't great, this explains that. They're actually the best part of the song.

yeah, i'd heard that, didn't notice he actually said "everybody rock out" - not sure what i thought he said. listening to pixies on my minidisc has really been great, you get to hear lots of little things like that...

Why won't you dance for me, like you danced for him?

Wow! Realy he is saying so! Thanks, COF!....I've enjoyed Bossanova hundreds of times without noticing that.

By the way, about P-I-X-I-E-S in Cactus, who sings this part? Lovering?

Did anyone ever notice too, that they spell P-I-X-I-E-S in Cactus? And in the Bowie version, Bowie's band spelling D-A-V-I-D?
PsychicTwin Posted - 05/21/2004 : 09:29:12
v-e-l-o-u-r-i-a

but, like Cult of Frank said, the "v" and "e" kind of blend together.

I don't know why, but when I found out what she was singing, it delighted me to no end. Made me love the song so much more. Just one of those quirky Pixies stylistic things that makes them so fucking great.

it DOES sound like "even i love" something, i would never have thought IRA but that does fit quite nicely.
VoVat Posted - 05/21/2004 : 08:19:08
Well, who DOESN'T love the IRA?

Cattle in Korea / They can really moo.
Cult_Of_Frank Posted - 05/21/2004 : 07:29:30
The V and E are sort of said together, but yes, she's spelling it out:

Vee-eee L-O-U R-I-A
