Posted - 05/11/2004 : 19:08:03 I just wanted to say that I purchsed a print from Simon's website and it is beautiful. I had been debating it for a long time, and finally pulled the trigger on it.
If you are not aware, this is the guy that did all the cover art photography for the Pixies up through Doolittle. He has a great portfolio, and sells Pixies prints from his website. In addition to the prints he has pictured, he also has selenium-toned prints which I guess are more metallic and 3D-looking... Anyway he was really nice when he and I were emailing back and forth. The print arrived in perfect condition and looks wonderful.
I encourage anyone who likes his stuff to check it out, and get a piece of Pixies-related artwork for your wall. (btw, they do not arrive framed, so you need to get that done yourself) He also told me his prints will be on display at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, if anyone is going to that show...
Simon Larbalestier's website: http://www.simon-larbalestier.co.uk/home.html Click on SALES to see the Pixies prints for sale.

Posted - 05/12/2004 : 19:07:11 Yeah the prices are a bit high, but he makes the prints by hand -- it's not like he has a manufacturing facility or anything. It's on special paper and then he signs the back and everything... At first I was thinking $270 was too much for a print but when you think about it, as a piece of artwork you will have forever that's not too bad. I haven't framed it yet but I can't wait to get it on my wall.
