This is in the top three songs of all time, and in my opinion sits at No.1.... I love this song, this is the one that got me into Pixies and then Frank Black I guess.
I am still secretly harboring anger towards Vovat for rigging the Doolittle survivor (in which Debaser won).... maybe I should think about adding him to the Clopse hitlist????

I don't love this song as much as everyone else seems to, but it's certainly cool. I like it when Frank uses Biblical imagery in songs. I know he's been asked about it in a few interviews, and he's said that he considers it to be traditional in rock music, or something like that.

Yeah, I really like the FB&TC instrumental intro version. I even prefer it to the Pixies version..

One of the Catholics 'covers' (I don't know if that's the right term since it's still FB, but...) that I enjoy more than the Pixies version. I mean, it's all about that organ for me. Though in Saskatoon, live, it was pretty damn fantastic.

Awesome song. I love the verse "Chained to the Pillars, a three day party, I break the Walls, and kill us all, with holy fingers". I also love the circular progression. The chords don't need to change the song because the dynamics do. This was also one of the last (if not THE last) Pixies song in which Frank used imagery from the Bible. On of the many songs fron "Doolittle" that made me realize what a fuckin' great band The Pixies are.

And the Catholics live version is incredibly great. The way they don't sing the first chorus and jump right into the verse, ooohhh... I love it.

absolute stunner - i can listen to this song on repeat for hours on end...
also, i wrote the lyrics for this song down and showed them to an girlfriend of mine way back when i was about 16 and she thought i had written it about her/us.
it was the 'sleepin on your belly line'
not particularly relevant, but i had to write something.
