Posted - 04/16/2004 : 14:03:30 I seem to recall a thread showing up a little while ago where someone mentioned a second verse for "Brick Is Red," which didn't make it to the album version. Something starting with "Brick is red, and Hitler's dead," I believe. Does anyone remember that, and what the lyrics were? And is there a source for those lyrics, or have I fallen for a joke, like when I thought Tony from "Tony's Theme" was actually the Swimmer?

Posted - 04/23/2004 : 08:43:24 I've seen that translated as 'A FIST is fast'!! |

Posted - 04/21/2004 : 19:13:08 Considering that the line before it is "a fish is fast," I thought it meant Jimmy had cast his fishing line.

Posted - 04/20/2004 : 04:04:22 Well, It's a reference to that lyric, I guess. I never heard about those original lyrics-The actual Surfer Rosa lyrics sound like he's taking about a western movie....'And Jimmy's cast';Is he talking about James Stewart or somebody?! |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 12:48:56 I always found it interesting that the "white moon" line is very similar to the line "When one side is hot, the other side of the Moon is not" in "All Over The World."

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 08:21:41 Those alternate lyrics are actually a first verse, not a second verse. And I think it's "The earth's not round", instead of "The outside's not round".

Posted - 04/17/2004 : 19:06:13 The guitarist in my old band used to mishear part of the lyrics as "A white woman's hot, but the other side's not", as opposed to the actual lyrics: "A white moon's hot, but the other side's not". I don't know what the fuck was on his mind thinking something like that. I was never aware of the Hitler lyrics version. Where can that be found? Can anyone get it up on the ftp server?

Posted - 04/17/2004 : 14:07:13 It goes, "Brick is red/And Hitler's dead/Hang me/The Earth's not round/It's shaped like an egg/Hang me"...
(It's a stretched sphere.)
I was trying to find my tape with this on today (in my car) but no joy... fuck.

Posted - 04/16/2004 : 16:29:45 Yeah, those are legit, early lyrics...
Brick is red And Hitler's dead Hang me
The outside's round It's shaped like an egg Hang me
I guess they decided to change the lyrics. Instead of the first verse being an instrumental, these lyrics were in place.
