Posted - 04/15/2004 : 07:25:36 In honor of all the jackasses who have been screaming out requests for Pixies songs at FB shows, even back when it was clear that FB wasn't going to play them, should some of the FB faithful yell out "Western Star!" or "Superabound!" at Pixies shows? Of course not. So why did these people all these years think it was ok to yell out "Where is my Mind!" back in '95 during the Cult of Ray tour? |

Posted - 04/16/2004 : 00:11:03 what annoys me is that we always have to see frank black and the pixies as something seperated. Well I hate that, to me (like Vovat said) there all songs by my favourite writer. I would love to see a show that has songs from his whole career, a few songs from all his albums. Frank Black solo is the closest to that (although cult of ray and bossanova and trompe le monde weren't touched that much the last tour)

Posted - 04/15/2004 : 15:11:15 I tend to think we shouldn't stoop to their level. It would be cool for the Pixies to play a few Frank solo songs, though. To me, they're pretty much all Frank songs, regardless of the band name on the album.
I've reached 1000 posts / So I'm too cool to be in a cult. |

Posted - 04/15/2004 : 13:21:08 I think it wasn't okay to yell out Pixies songs, but some people just try to make fantasy into reality. I fantasize about Pixies playing "Ten Percenter" or "The Marsist" or "Men in Black" or "Two Reelers" or, well.
You know, everyone's talking about their favo(u)rite pixies songs, and I'm always "Ooh! I love .... wait. Nevermind; that's a Frank Black song".
But you're right, Mr. Grieves1971. It isn't right.

Posted - 04/15/2004 : 08:27:04 You could also scream out for Dave to do a funny science experiment. It's just as ridiculous. |

Posted - 04/15/2004 : 08:01:48 hehe that's pretty rich. I think we're well within our rights to do so, if even for symmetry's sake only.
-- "You one of those right-wing nut outfits?" inquired the diplomatic Metzger. Fallopian twinkled. "They accuse us of being paranoids." "They?" inquired Metzger, twinkling also. "Us?" asked Oedipa.

Posted - 04/15/2004 : 07:40:50 It's different going from The Pixies to FB. In 1995 most of FB fans where probley Pixies fans who never got to see them live.
Sure it's annoying, but people wanted the nostalgia. Now with Pixies shows people are going for Pixies songs, not Frank's solo work.
