Posted - 04/13/2004 : 14:19:25 Hi. Not sure if this has been posted.
Today an exclusive ep by the Martinis went on sale at certain indepentent Record Stores. Its called The Smitten Sessions e.p. and the tracklisting is:
1 You Are The One 2 Right Behind You (from the album Smitten 3 Right Behind You (demo version) 4 Out Upon The Road (from the album Smitten 5 Out Upon The Road (demo version) 6 Walls of Silence (demo Version) 7 Such a Fake (Exclusive Track) 8 Skater Pink (Exclusive Instrumental track from Joey Santiago)
You can order it from the Newbury Comics website at: http://www.buymusichere.net/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=103&upc=103-862730N
Plus the full album, called Smitten, is on presale at Amazon at:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001Z3TXO/themartinis/002-8643111-8192839?creative=125577&camp=2321&link_code=as1
Its release date is May 4th and the tracklisting is: 1 Flyer 2 Right Behind You 3 You Are The One 4 New Scene 5 Out Upon The Road 6 Wishful Thinking 7 Walls Of Silence 8 Invisible 9 Big Three Wheeler 10 People In The World 11 Into The Meadow
Apparently, David Lovering plays drums on a few tracks and Ben Mize from the counting crows also preforms.
I think the LP is coming out the came day as the DVD and the new best of, which I think is right around the cochalla fest. The month of May will be good to pixies fans.
With frank just recording a record in nashville, Kimi having laid down some Breeders tracks earlier this year and Joey and Dave both on this, it appears that not a single pixie is resting on their lurels while doing this cash-in tour. One must respect them all.

Posted - 04/19/2004 : 14:36:51 I order this last tuesday and recieved it on saturday. Pretty decent stuff, considering its mostly demos and b-sides. The two exclusive tracks are the best. Such a Fake is groovy Skater Pink is an instumental.
The best thing, though, is that it came SIGNED by Joey S. and Linda M. Didn't expect that. Like it, but didn't expect it. |

Posted - 04/13/2004 : 16:00:25 No. I'm going to head over to Looney Tunes in Babylon tomorrow to see if they have it. They had the Frank Black five song Nadine ep last fall, so I hope they have this.
I didn't care for "Free" too much from the Empire Records soundtrack, but I have faith in Joey Alberto Santiago to 'Rock Me'
