Posted - 04/15/2004 : 10:21:34 I think it was ther album vers. Yeah, the vox on the single hav'nt got the cool watery effect. Also, the single of 'Dig For Fire' cuts out the little melodic intro, and of course 'Gigantic' is a re-recorded version.

Posted - 04/06/2004 : 17:54:17 The vocals are completely different and have no effects on them, they almost sound live but i can't be sure. Other than that theres no changes as far as i know and if you want to listen to it you can download it from the fb.net ftp. |

I have the British 4AD Planet of Sound CD single and the US 4AD/Electra version of Trompe le Monde and I popped them in to compare. I always thought they were different versions, but now I am not so sure. I think any differences must be subtle. On the single version, it sounds like Black's vocals may be more heavily processed, but maybe my ears were playing tricks on me. The single version is 2:09 and the album version is 2:06, but I think it might be dead air that is cut - on the single there is a normal gap between Planet of Sound and Theme From Narc, but on the album Planet of Sound goes very quickly into Alec Eiffel. So, I guess I don't know what, if any, difference there is. Anyone else? Jeremy |
