As for new songs, there's a Latvian lullaby, a Czech dirge and a Bulgarian ballad."

Posted - 02/26/2004 : 07:00:38 a question here and if it has been answered I apologise, but lets suppose that the pixies haul themselves into a recording studio, who would release the fruits? 4ad? Cooking vinyl???

Posted - 02/24/2004 : 15:53:18 Maybe the flying pig was the same as the "manta ray" that passed above his house when he was a baby.
I'd love to hear those new songs, and I think Frank could indeed pull them off, but I don't think I'm going to believe this until someone actually hears these songs performed.

Posted - 02/24/2004 : 14:15:22 Not to be a know-it-all but doesn't anyone else "get it" ('cept for Dave)? Of course they have written three new pixies songs and will be playing them at shows. It makes perfect sense. Remember, Frank's press release saying he saw a pig flying over his house. Remember, that the old joke was that the pixies will get back together when pigs fly? And look, sure enough it came true. Now apply the same logic and this new scandanavian song "joke" works the same way. Not much of a stretch either considering Frank's prolific writing. Cool news, right? Please someone, tell me I'm not the only one who can read Frank's playful code. Anyone? |

Posted - 02/24/2004 : 08:00:22 Wasn't there a "joke" a while back that if they did a new album or had done one after Trompe that it was going to be exactly what the new songs are listed as. Latvian and Czech lullabyes and bedtime songs. Something real weird. I remember reading it somewhere in the very begining of all this reunion hype a the end of the summer. |

Posted - 02/24/2004 : 07:21:08 How about a Welsh folk ballad in the style of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci?!
Jew's harp, flutes, mandolins - the full works.
