Posted - 10/20/2003 : 14:02:25 uh, i just read this on the breeders board. i had been talking to richard presley before(i'm sure i've mentioned this fact) and he had seemed cynical about a reunion but when he was asked about what the breeders members were doin in general, he mentioned the pixies. here ya go... Pixies: I know Kim has talked to the other guys in the band, and the idea of doing a tour and some festivals in the summer has been discussed. Despite what you might have heard though, there are no definite plans to do anything at the moment. I think it would be exciting............

Posted - 11/24/2003 : 18:10:35 I wholeheartedly apologize for my language in my last post. It was uncalled for, especially since I always make it a point NOT to succumb to such colorful metaphors. I have engaged in numerous threads much more heated, and have debated topics with greater urgency...and managed to keep a wit and a certain vim in doing so without resorting to foul language. But I must admit that I lost my temper when it came to reading and rereading these silly and unfounded negativities and judgements made against an event that should cause nothing more than a rejoice and great excitement. So, for what it's worth, I'm sorry, I'm embarrased, and yet I do not change my view.

AND YOU KNOW ONCE THEY COME OUT ON STAGE NO ONE IS GONNA WEIGH ALL THESE REDICULOUS PROS AND CONS OF HOW THEY'RE SHATTERING THEIR INTEGRITY BY SELLING OUT. COMPLETE UTTER BULLSHIT.
Is anyone NOT aware of the fact that people need to make money? That the need for waxing nostalgic is inherent in our human make-up? That artists gather new followers? So why all this negativity towards newer fans? Who gives a crap for Thompson's reasons for participating in this possible reunion? Or Kim's? Or Lovering's? Or Joey's? Why blast an artist for reinterpreting his creation, even if he does profit from it? It's HIS work for fucking Christ's sake! Not anyone else's! So again, SHUT THE FUCK UP, GO TO THE SHOW, LISTEN TO SOME GOOD MUSIC, SEE SOME INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS, HANG WITH YOUR PALS, HAVE SOME BEER (or whatever), AND ENJOY THE pixies!
There. I feel better.

Posted - 11/23/2003 : 12:00:05 About every year, there is a rumour of a possible Pixies reunion, and people still introduce FB as the former Pixies front-man.
Personally, I don't feel nostalgic about them : when I discovered FB and the Pixies (simultaneously) it was 1993 and I was 13 tears old. And the Pixies did make some great records but it is stupid to think about what they would have released if they haven't split. It just belongs to past.

Posted - 11/20/2003 : 20:44:39 See, consider this:
1) If it's true, the band probably would've put something official out there by now. Get people excited for the concert(s).
2) If it's not true, the band would probably not say anything as this sort of posthumous buzz can't hurt.

Posted - 11/19/2003 : 08:39:26 more fuel for the fire, according to a poster at the radiohead site ateaseweb.com, apparently in this month's urb magazine there is an interview with thom yorke where he says radiohead is playing coachella this year with the pixies. if that info about the interview isn't 100% correct, i take no responsibility because i haven't read it myself. so anyways, for what it's worth...

Posted - 11/14/2003 : 14:08:18 searching for inspiration for the pixies tribute artwork,i listened to all the pixies records in chronological order, one after the other non stop.it was a bit i didn't listen to the pixies stuff being into smyt and fb bootlegs and all.i was strictly against a possible reunion but listening to all that beloved cds confused my ideas.i missed the only gig they did in greece back in '92 (i went to see g'n'r and metallica instead)and i regret it.i would love to see the old band together again just to fill this gap but i wouldn't like it to be a nostalgic-we-are-in-it-just-for-the-money type kind of thing.i would kill to see them play live all the classic pixies songs but i don't want the catholics to break up(just saw them live and they rock).there are rumours.why are they so hush hush, they are so quiet about it?is there a next thing we should know about?.fuck (them at school)i just wish they made clear once and for all if these rumours are true or not.do i ask for much?

Posted - 11/13/2003 : 15:52:49 I'll be fine if they do or don't reunite. The only thing I can say would be a definite advantage if they did is that I'll have a chance to go to one of their shows, something I never got to do when they were still together.

Posted - 11/13/2003 : 15:33:45 i think the best thing they could do, was do a handful of one off gigs in little clubs around the place. nothing big and special and "woo look at us we're reuniting!". maybe do the same place twice or something, so if you miss it (like i probably would) you have a second chance.

"I joined the Cult of Trippy/...what was i singing again???"
strange but on today's newspaper i read that the foo fighters actually do private shows for 500-600.000$.grohl said that they will play for an hour for that price.i hope that this will not be the future of the (eventually reunited) pixies

Posted - 11/13/2003 : 15:11:15 i dont want it. i can see it now, this time next year, little kids raving about the pixies in their new pixies hoodies saying how they were into the band before they were born, or something stupid. anyway maybe kim was fucking with him? not literally, but you know, arent the breeders doing a new album? so they'll want some publicity i guess.
