Posted - 01/07/2019 : 10:27:19 Hey! (Hey)
Guess what? (What!?)
You just saw the coolest Pixies concert ever! (What, really?)
Yes really and it was mindblowing. They played all of your favourite songs. (No way!). That’s right. All of the best songs. AND they played none of the songs you sort of like but not really, if you know what I mean. (Not even THAT ONE SONG they always play?) Not even that one. AND every time they played a Kim Deal song, Paz just turned into Kim. Like poof! She’s Kim now. (Oh wow that’s weird). It was.
SO everyone is just dying to know what the Pixies played at your concert??
SETLIST RULES:
- Anything goes. Every recorded song, plus all cover songs (including fantasy cover songs, i.e., stuff you want the band to cover but they’ve never covered before, if you’re into that sort of thing).
- Maximum setlist length: 32 songs. Minimum: none.
- Maximum encores: 3. Minimum: 0 (i.e., all as the main set).
- The Pixies are playing like it’s 1990 and the venue’s about the catch fire and burn down. Ain’t no time for nuffin’ but blasting through the songs. Think about what you’d like to hear played together. If you’re a weirdo you could make an iTunes playlist and see how your set flows but only weirdos do that so don’t do it if you’re not weird
- Optional: you can also choose the venue. It can be your favourite venue in your hometown or a small bar like the Horseshoe Tavern or somewhere fancy like the Royal Albert Hall
Okay okay so I know everyone’s the most excited about reading my setlist since I’m like a prolific and beloved long term poster who’s sort of like family in a weird internet way and stuff so without further adieu…

And let’s hope that after you heard this setlsit you would want to hear it again immediately, and again and again and again after that. |

Posted - 01/11/2019 : 09:12:01 that they open with an awkwardly long rendition of Something Against You, so long that many in attendance leave to get some air outside. Upon their return they are met with the loudest version of Tame ever. I suffer from tinnitus

Posted - 01/07/2019 : 20:22:01 "Hey Trompe Le Monde, it's Bossanova !" tour with EDF, Deal and Bob Santiago.
Setlist: They played Bossa and Trompe back to back. And a bunch of cool B-Sides in between (Theme from Narc etc...)
Deal vocals mainly consisted of "V-E-L-O-U-R-I-A" and "California".
Encore: they closed with covers of Frank Black songs from his first bunch of records including "You ain't me". Deal was good sport about it.
Venue: Next door. I watched the show from my balcony drinking beers.

Posted - 01/07/2019 : 17:50:03 The concert I saw was pretty damn perfect- tamefan, I see your 32 song limit, and Pixies scoff at it because they played 41. But if I were seeing them again, it would be at exactly the same venue (Revolution Live in south Florida- fun fact, in the 90s David Bowie played his longest show ever there!), EDF would be there, and the setlist would be:
1. Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf) 2. Bone Machine 3. Planet of Sound 4. Nimrod’s Son 5. Broken Face 6. Velouria, with theremin intact. 7. Head On 8. Mr. Grieves 9. Gigantic 10. Levitate Me 11. The Happening 12. La La Love You 13. Greens and Blues 14. Crackity Jones 15. Alec Eiffel 16. Tame 17. No. 13 Baby 18. Hang Wire 19. Gouge Away, with the live keyboard intro AND the live guitar solo intro. There's no such thing as too much Gouge Away. 20. Letter to Memphis 21. Hey 22. Dig for Fire 23. Where Is My Mind?, with added keyboards. 24. Motorway to Roswell
(at this point, much like Tom Tom Club between the sets in Stop Making Sense, the Breeders appear and play Spacewoman and When I Was a Painter.)
25. In Heaven 26. A David Bowie cover, because that video of Bowie and Frank singing together is extremely cool. 27. Vamos, with the noisiest, most self-indulgent solo of all time. 28. Into the White 29. Havalina
----------------------- Q: Where do Pixies keep their instruments when they're not playing? A: Debasement. |

Posted - 01/07/2019 : 11:02:12 And obviously the 5th Pixie is there, else Motorway doesn't make much sense |

Posted - 01/07/2019 : 10:54:46 Since we're dreaming and doing "poof she's Kim", the lead singer of the Pixies is the one that had hair.
Meaning that he has that voice that makes me wonder if he is a she.
Not the voice of anything post-Trompe.
Now, let me get to work on that set list.
1. Dancing the Manta Ray 2. The Sad Punk 3. Break My Body 4. I've Been Tired 5. No. 13 Baby 6. Brick is Red 7. Is She Weird 8. River Euphrates 9. Ana 10.Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons (which I still can't believe I got to see live) 11. Subbacultcha 12. Bailey's Walk 13. Down to the Well (Peel Sessions) 14. Space (I Believe In) 15. Dead 16. Tame 17. Something Against You 18. Debaser
Encore 19. Bone Machine 20. Fazer Eyes 21. Motorway to Roswell
Just like you wish your favorite Pixies song was a little longer, your dream concert should be just a little too short.
Also I'm thinking about switching the order of 17 and 18.
