Was surprised to see the Pixies cover the Fall but shows anything can happen.

I would love to see the Pixies cover Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan.

Officially written by Donovan when he was in India with 4 Beatles and a Beach Boy, this song sounds destined to be wailed over by both JS and BF.

Any other songs Pixies should cover?

That would be really something to hear Tom Waits rendtion of any FB song, but this one in particular would truly fit.

Also sometimes when I listen to 'I Will Run After you' (especially the Live at Melkweg version) I think it would be the perfect song for Coldplay to cover. Not a fan of them in the slightest though.

I think it would be cool if they covered an entire classic album kinda like the Flaming Lips did for PFs The wall. They could even start with a J&M Chain album, maybe not the obvious but something like Sound Of Speed would be pretty epic.

I think it was "Dark Side of the Moon". That would be cool--how about the "White Album"?

oh yeah. DSOTM...

not sure i'd dig a beatles redo but hey, how bout Velvet underground & nico. can Paz croon?

Absolutely. There latest one, 'How To Stop Your Brain In An Accident" for me, is their best yet. Roughly on a par with 'The Difference Between Me and You Is that I'm Not on Fire".

Have you heard about Andrew Falkous's solo album? That's worth checking out:

Something by Mclusky would be interesting.

Fantastic. Closely modelled on J.Lo's Taco Flavored Kisses. No bad thing. And don't forget the hot sauce, cholo.

He'll never cover Lou Reed. I just know it. More chance of him covering Blondie. Pity, I'd like to hear Joey cover a John Cale part. But EDF doing a Jimmy Destri part would also be good.

Bullet.

Frank and Joey once made an instrumental version of it for some movie. It's in #1 of the fb.net podcast. It sounds glorious, but is far too short. If the Pixies covered this song in full I think they would really take it to another level.

Of course Frank has already put the kibosh on the Pixies ever taking on any of his solo stuff, but hey, a guy can dream...

I have to agree with you, this should have stayed in my own mind with all the other ridiculous fantasies! Dont worry, I wont share the others!

Good point.
I'd never heard any of these Pixies covers before the originals
I've been waiting for you
Heaven
Winterlong
Evil hearted you
I can't forget
Cecilia Ann
Born in Chicago

And I love them all. But I did know the originals of

Wild honey pie
Head on

And I can't stand the Pixies versions, so I am all in favour of the surprise cover.

Mind you I'd still love them to have a go at Don't bang the drum by the Waterboys

Do You Love Me Now? by the Breeders.

Srsly, Save It For Later by the English Beat

Well I was going to suggest Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles by Captain Beefheart, but I just saw that the fucking Black Keys did it already. Never been a fan of those guys. Or any of the overtly look-at-how-retro-and-raw-we-are groups (Jack White).

So maybe some other Beefheart.

My density has popped me to you.
