1. It doesn't seem to be available on pixiesmusic.com anymore (not for a long time). The download page exists, but no download. Is this an oversight or intentional? Any guesses?
2. Was this ever made available anywhere as anything other than a 128kbps MP3 file? Higher bitrate? Dare I say... lossless?
Thanks.

Posted - 05/10/2014 : 04:42:27 Bam Thwok is the only song I've downloaded from iTunes. Had a free iTunes code from a cereal box. That is all.

Posted - 05/09/2014 : 11:29:49 I think I would go for Come On Pilgrim. Some Christian Rock fans may pop up at the gigs and this could be a good laugh. |

Posted - 05/09/2014 : 08:33:12 I would have chosen Trompe Le Monde, definitely. I think there was a French house / electro-rock band named like this for some time :\ |

I would go with "Hey" for my hypothetical band. Or "The Thing". |

Posted - 05/09/2014 : 00:51:11 there's a musician called "caribou". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribou_%28musician%29 but i don't think he named himself after the pixies song.
if i had to name my band after a pixies song, i might go for the sad punk or the sad punks. i don't have a band though.

Posted - 05/08/2014 : 22:50:38 If you were to name your band after a Pixies song would you choose Bam Thwok? This band might be worth a listen. http://www.snobsmusic.net/2013/08/bam-thwok-let-me-out-ep-review.html
Are there any other bands named after pixies songs or lyric? |

Thank you! I never knew it had been "issued" in anything other than 128kbps. Nice to get the upgrade to 320kbps. |

some people require a lossless release though, for closure. only then can they leave it.

Posted - 05/07/2014 : 15:06:29 I think it's rather a case of their free download thing attached to subscribing to their emails. The current download is Women of War. If you run through this http://www.pixiesmusic.com/albums_post_type/bam-thwok/ you get a Pixies subscription confirmation email. In theory you'd get a Women of War link with it. I'll bet a buck something's broken in the code.

Posted - 05/07/2014 : 09:43:01 the song was originally released exclusively on itunes. i can't remember the bitrate, but it was 128 or 192 or so. the download that appeared later on pixiesmusic.com was 320 kbps mp3.
as far as i know, there is no lossless version of bam thwok available (yet). it appeared on one compilation cd i know of, but it was sourced from the itunes download, and hence lossy.
