Please let me preface by saying (because I get really passionate an about my musical "gods"/faves and I'm self conscious here because peeps have said I'm like an exhuberant little kid)...and I've only been on this wonderful FB board a short time, since staying away for a lot of years, no reason, just didn't visit, And so I'm not too sure what importance the Breeders have here or how many of you truly love the Breeders......... cerainly not as much as the P's or FB solo & Catholics, etc. I'm in that boat: that the P's and FB's solo work is the
ultimate, fer sure,
Continuing my preface to my review (whew! ) hahaha I was too young to get into the Pixies first go-round, so, when I DID (1999-2000-ish) I was of course smitten And so got all of Frank's solo work . So when I got to see this fuckin genius in 2001 (DITS) and saw him soooooooo many times solo and FB & the C's.
Then, HAD to see Kim Deal with the Breeders in 2002 (Title TK tour) and loved it. So I have a real attachment to them because these were the first times I ever got to see the glorious members of the Pixies "live".
Preface is over. Re: the show...It was INCREDIBLY GREAT. I love grungy
hard rock and they kicked ass. Great to see Kim.......and Kelly blew us away with her (simple yet PASIONATE) guitar work, their harmonies were gorgeous.........and Kim was a rock & roll mama coupled with the sweetness that is she.

Yeah. They were both great shows and it was actually more enjoyable and EXCITING/energetic than the Pixies show in Sept. But that's because I'd seen the P's so much in 2004-05 and 2009 and hadn't seen the Breeders since 2002. Kim was so great, she sang her heart out and Kelly was ferocious. These 2 Breeder shows plus getting back into their albums really makes me appreciate how special Kim is an an artist, especially as a songwriter.
I'm kinda glad now that she didnt re-up with the P's cuz she's a legit, bonafide classy musician/sonwriter in her own rite and they did a new Breeders song that was fantastic and it looks like they're gonna do a new album.
I tell eveyone: "You HAVE to live with POD, LAST SPLASH, TITLE TK and anything else by them there chicks ! har har

Your exuberance is a good thing! Sharing your joy from a concert is one of the fundamental reasons for this place. I've barely listened to the Breeders. Do they have a Vamos equivalent live, where someone(s) goes off during a section?

cheers
