Thanks for the explanation, Darwin.

I have not listened to the McCabe's solo boot in at least a decade and had forgotten the quarter story.

Now that I squint, I can certainly make out that they are coins, but on a small screen they looked like weird hearing aids or earphones...

Frank explains this during one of his best posted solo shows (McCabe's I think). The quarter thing was how the local Puerto Ricans held their quarter (the bus fare) while waiting for the bus.

that is a great pickup there darwin. never would have guessed that they're coins.
but yeah, frank tells the story in the 1996 mccabes recording.

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

Not all people from P.R. did that but yeah you could see that down here specially in the town were the University of P.R. is located. Those are the old buses poor Charles with no AC or the drivers didn't turn it on.Nowadays the heat in the island is way worse (near the Equator line).Due to global warming our summer heat has shifted to September.June and July were pouring rain.Only good thing I can still go snorkeling on X-mas day if I wan't to.Hopefully E.P.2 will be playing in my headphones by then :-)

Thanks for the credit, but I was looking for Riot Fest pictures and tripped over this stuff. I guess that's pretty common in life. A guy sets out to find a practical method of nuclear fusion, and ends up with peanut butter cups.

Srsly, if anything was ever photographed, recorded or written down, it will end up on the internet eventually. I find that both comforting and frightening in equal doses.
