Posted - 10/04/2012 : 06:22:04 I listened to the CD layer of this and I think it's better sounding than my CD import version of Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim. More dynamic range for sure and less compression and this was only on my Bose in my car. Listening to SACD on an OPPO soon... |

Posted - 09/06/2012 : 09:33:30 I used my Pioneer SACD and DVD-A player. I was waiting on Beggars Archive to release their multichannel release of Doolittle, which would have been a different story, but they said in 2010 that the project was basically shelved for an indeterminate amount of time. Shame really, that would have been amazing to hear. |

Posted - 09/06/2012 : 03:00:25 I would think that analog master to digital master technology would be better today than it was when these were original transferred to cd in the 80's/90's. That and added frequency/dynamic range I thought might make a difference. Did you play it on a SACD enabled player or a conventional player? |

Posted - 09/06/2012 : 01:20:33 I have listened to the SACDs and they are delightfully redundant. There is no noticeable difference to any of the levels or sound quality when heard using headphones. Maybe there is through 1000 dollar speakers but I doubt it. |
