I recently read Sisario's book about Doolittle, a great book, and it indicates that there is an unreleased version of HCYM. According to the book, in May 1988 at Blackwing Studios in London, they recorded the Gigantic and River Euphrates singles. They also recorded a version of HCYM which was subsequently cut from being released.

So does this mean there is a version kicking around which was "too commercial"? I'd like to hear it.

Tommy Seebach's right hand commands respect.

Pixies version probably sounds incredible. But I am glad they went with cecilia ann.

Ha! Soundtrack to my Friday. I never realised how much Kim's "ooohs" sound like pan pipes.

Yeah me too! Where are all these unheard of by me before rare pixies tracks coming from?

Did not know that, I would like to hear that HCYM version too!

While that is an alt version, how many other PIXIES recordings are there that have not been released?

Apart from the Trompe Le Monde sessions, the only other two I know of are: Watch What You're Doing (Purple Tape recordings) and Apache (which was rehearsed for Bossanova) but they went with Cecilia Ann instead, so I'm not 100% that a recording exists - but you never know...

I have the key to #902

Pretty sure I read that 'Dig for Fire' was written well before Bossanova. Might have been in the 'Fool the World' book. Think it's Gil Norton who mentioned it.
