Apparently they're recording this month. There's a feature on the NME.com site, but the source is actually José's website.

i love the production on 'pod'
imo, still the best post-pixies release.
title tk was good, with some stellar tracks, but i'm expecting grand things from any new album.

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

The only Breeder's stuff I have heard is through the media. Maybe I will buy the new album.
Cheeseman1000 Posted - 11/06/2007 : 03:02:49
I'd have a tough time working out whether I prefer Albini producing the Breeders or not - I love the warmer sound on Last Splash just as much as the rougher sound on Title TK, but for different reasons. Albini seems pretty much just plain annoying to me, and I don't think he suits every band that he works with, but sometimes it clicks and it's really, really great.
fbc Posted - 11/06/2007 : 01:46:29
but you have heard them, yeah?

If you haven't, go make your day by getting hold of at least one. You will not be disappointed.
treetime Posted - 11/05/2007 : 23:59:25
I have never bought a Breeder's album even though I am a Kim Deal fan.

Just a little Breeders thing that popped up with Pixies Google Alerts:

The Daily Haggis - Flashback Friday: The Breeders.

*bump*

Apparently, Kim and Kelley are playing in Chicago on either the 4th or 5th of Dec, as part of a 24 hour benefit gig for Second City E.T.C. (Steve Albini did some radio thing for them on Oct 31). Thanks to PixiesMusic's sparksoffyou for the info.

I think "Title TK" was on one of these release lists for about 4 years before it finally came out. I take them with a grain of salt unless it's a press release put out by the record company.

Yeah. i'm suspicious. Last i heard Roxy Music's new album was pushed bact to 08. So is this anold list?

a quick google search finds that this list could be at least over a year old.
Keep wishing

Title TK does really grate upon me in parts. Some fine songs, though.
velvety Posted - 10/08/2006 : 12:55:06
I think that's Kim's way of singing. She has that effortless thing going on, raspy sounding vocals, not quite perfectly on key, but perfect nonetheless. Hasn't she been doing that forever?
rodney Posted - 10/08/2006 : 07:59:14
WHAT? Have you even HEARD Title TK? I like it, but to say that it's in tune is a horrible, horrible mistake.

Dressy Bessy are awesome.
billgoodman Posted - 10/07/2006 : 06:38:44
I have a dressy bessy record, and all the vocals are out of tune...
kim always sings great on records

I agree that their voices sound similar. Try Electrified...
that's the first one I got.

Dressy Bessy is cool, but why is that like having a new Breeders record HPM?
kelladwella Posted - 10/03/2006 : 14:27:00
Dressy Bessy?

I have just discovered Dressy Bessy, so I effectively have some new Breeders records.

"As of May, 2006, Deal is working on new material with The Breeders with plans to release an EP late in the year and a full length in early 2007. The working lineup at this point includes Kim and Kelley Deal, Jose Medeles and Carrie Bradley. It was reported on Jose Medeles' blog that the band will be working with Steve Albini on a number of songs on the upcoming album."

And they brought 'REM producer' Scott Litt in to fix the vocal mix on a couple of tracks.

onehappyprick Posted - 09/28/2006 : 07:14:28
I thought its much more of a big Deal that Kim Deal is working with "Pixies producer" Steve Albini (if it had to be written in that way) then bring Nirvana into it. They only used Albini to try and get the sound of Surfer Rosa.

"Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Joe".... "Goodnight Charles"

Only because they're the only band Albini has recorded that NME kids will recognise, apart from maybe the Pixies.

Albini, "Nirvana producer"? Wow, that's lame. It's like referring to Eno as "U2 producer".

milo Posted - 09/21/2006 : 15:07:47
Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the stuff that Albini has produced. I can't help but think about his influence on Kim though with regards to new Pixies material. He's apparently quite a charismatic guy, and I have read some of his negative soundbites on Pixies. I hope he doesn't put some baaaaad trippies in her head about more Pixies studio material.

On the other hand, just imagine a new Pixies disc produced by Albini, artwork by S Larbalestier*, released on 4AD, etc etc OH WOW!

Ah maybe I should lay off the substances, calm down and just be grateful for new Breeders album.

I love, love, love, heart, love, love LOVE this live stuff. Hearing it just put me in a great mood.

Jose, I don't know who you are but thanks for posting these songs for all to share.

The Breeders team up with
Nirvana producer

As they work on new album

The Breeders are working with Nirvana producer
Steve Albini on their fourth album.

The untitled album will be the follow up to 2002's
'Title TK', which was also produced by Albini, as
was their 1990 debut 'Pod'.

According to a post on drummer Jose Medeles'
Official Website the band will be recording in LA.

The post reads: "So here's the latest update in
Breederland...We'll be recording this month in
LA...The studio in Dayton fell through due to
elements out of our control, we tried...

"Kim (Deal- Breeders frontwoman) and Kelley
(Deal- guitar) will head to Albini's to work on a
couple songs in September...

"Mando (Lopez- bass) is filming a ton of great
footage for our DVD...thanks to everyone offering us
shows, we're flattered...but we have to get this
record in the can...thanks and I'll keep you
posted...all the best"

The band's last UK show was in November
celebrating record label 4AD's 25th birthday.
