I still find it really sad that Bossanova never got any respect. The people who disapprove of Bossanova are the same people who booed Dylan when he went electric.

Can you prove that?

Indeed. Even though I appreciate that they wanted to progress a bit, it dos'nt mean you have to like the results, although just because it's possibly my least favorite Pixies dos'nt mean I don't like it!! And seeing as Trompe came after it, the Dylan analogy dos'nt apply for me!!

I don't really have much in the way of opinions or knowledge on Dylan's career, but I can kind of see the comparison anyway. There are always going to be people who get annoyed when an artist or band changes direction. Of course, there are also going to be people who get annoyed if an artist does the same thing for too long. As usual, I think it all comes down to what you're looking for in an artist's work. People who don't like the later Pixies albums as much often seem to say it's because they aren't as raw-sounding as the earlier stuff. Since the raw sound isn't the main appeal of the band to me, it doesn't bother me that they changed it.

Bossanova is my favorite Pixies album. I love the grand, space-y feel that a lot of the songs have. There's definitely an energy to the earlier Pixies albums that Bossanova doesn't really have so much, but in terms of production value and song quality, I'd say it's a definite improvement over the band's earlier work.

bossanova is probably my least favourite pixies album, but not by much, and i love it more than most albums by any other artist. it annoys me if any pixies albim doesn't get the respect they have all earned. im listening to it as i type. i dont really have anything against the album, or have a single complaint about it, but for some reason, whenever i list the albums in preference, bossa is always last. still, i was pissed off when they only played one song from it at reading this year (stormy weather). hhhmmmm, ramble over.

"Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Joe".... "Goodnight Charles"

I completely agree with you. To me this is the best album they did and has the best songs and the most consistant material. To bad they didn't concentrate more on this album during the 04/05 tours.
