Where Is My Mind played over the end of the episode of Veronica Mars tonight.

I'm trying to remember exactly which station it was, I'm pretty sure it was in the 94's somewhere like 94.5, but while I was stationed in San Diego from 2001-2003 I regularly heard pixies staples like Where is My Mind, Debasser, and Monkey, as well as Catholics like Massif Centrale. It wasn't an obscure college station either. I miss San Dog's good radio stations...

Today, if you visit the Windows Media Player "Guide",
you'll be seeing their "exclusive Caribou video."

It's live and lookin' good.
Also availabe: Where is my Mind, Wave of Mutilation

Anyone in the U.K. may have heard 'velouria' on an advert for broadband.

Last Xmas, Eurosport were doing a round-up of the football year and while they were showing bloopers from the Belgian league or somewhere, they played the intro to La La Love You!
pixiestu Posted - 09/22/2005 : 12:51:16
I heard 'Something Against You' aswell on an advert for an F.A. cup match a few months ago.

Ha ha, I heard the Pixies on the Really Wild Show! They were using bits of Debaser. The Wanadoo ad with Veloria is a good example of the resurgence of the Pixies into the mainstream, I really like it though.

Someone at BBC sport's football department likes Pixies. ;D

I remember a couple of years ago, Football Focus on BBC1 (UK Soccer show) used 'Letter to Memphis' as its theme tune...

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2005/08/03.html#recap

On Coast To Coast AM George Noory asked Michael Luckman, a man who wrote a book about rock stars and UFO's called Alien Rock, if Frank Black of the Pixies ever had a UFO experience, Luckman said either "I'm not sure" or "I know he wrote some songs" or "I don't think so".

Rock stars that made his book include David Bowie, Sammy Hagar, Jerry Garcia, Michael Jackson, Cat Stevens and Ace Frehley. You see, Rock ended in the 70's.

Was it someone on FBnet who fast-blasted Mr. Noory?

A Belgian televesion station has a commercial for the 2005 summer festival season, with "Lovely Day" playing in the background during that whole commercial.

Before the Pixies reformed I was listening to a Sunday Football radio program and they opened with the Velouria intro, and when the hosts came back they were asking who chose the Satanic music on a Sunday. I got a good laugh out of that one.

That was a great episode. Should have won an Emmy.

Anyway, everyone see this?

That's cool, pity they did'nt appear.
hammerhands Posted - 05/13/2005 : 21:04:16
This seems like an appropriate place to name drop...On the Larry Sanders Show (1992) in the episode called The Flirt with Mimi Rogers the Pixies are mentioned as being the musical guests for the second night. I thought I might see FB at the end of the couch, but no, no songs, no cameo. Janeane Garofalo's character only dates rock stars, Hey now.

I've never watched the O.C. but, they always seem to pick good music. I heard the pixies mentioned on I think One Tree Hill from some people in a band. They said they were going to cover a Pixies song.

TG4 is actually pretty good-I hav'nt watched it much lately, but it does have some informative, interesting programs(a lot of stuff in English, actually). And they show some good movies (although they can be a little repetitive in they're selection-how many times have they shown The Exorcist Director's Cut and a Clockwork Orange?! ;))

The episode of Jackass with Broken Face is at least 2 or 3 years old actually.
