I was listening to the great B-52's CD compilation. Also saw them coupla yrs ago. They were very underrated in my opinion.

But the thing I really thought about was some real similarities to Frank's solo stuff as well as Pixies stuff:

1) Great Sense Of Humour in the songs

2) Beautiful, lilting female harmonies ( Kate P and Cindy W reminding me of Kim)

3) The interplay bet The male and female vocals, if you will

4) A lot of songs re: OUTER SPACE thingees

Bye!

i think your reading a bit much into connections in franks back catoulog.any way how cn you compare THE MAN to that useless excuse for music otherwise known as the b-52s

I don't see much comparison between the two. Aside from the obvious--that they both have a dance-heavy stage show. Frank is a much better dancer onstage, though, than Fred Schneider. In fact, I remember seeing Frank do ALL 16 dances one night while playing with the Catholics in St. Petersburg.

Trouser Press once called "Tony's Theme" a 'crazed B-52's noise parody.'
