Posted - 08/27/2004 : 14:29:19 I fancy myself an expert on icons so I can give you guys some hints. Sometimes ie screws up and doesn't display the icon for one reason or another. to see it click on the regular ie icon in the address bar and drag it over a centimetre. Do this 2 or 3 times and it will appear in your address bar. It's also a neat trick to see which sites have icons. Also when you clean up your temp internet files the icon will disappear so it's good to save the icons somewhere else. Do this by going to your temp internet files and sort by type. Scroll down to the .ico files and save all the icons that you want, most of them will be called favicon. Then go to the properties of the link you want to use the icon for and select properties and change icon and click on the icon you just saved. It won't be in your temp files though unless you add the site to your favourites.

Posted - 06/29/2004 : 10:51:19 I have a program I used to make a bookmark icon for my site. I don't know much about it though. I'll have a look and get back to you on this. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to do though. |

Posted - 06/29/2004 : 07:23:20 Yeah, I don't think it's too hard. Though we've been talking about changing the theme of this place for months now, I think we're all too busy to do it this summer, so a kitty would be easy enough to use as an icon for bookmarks/shortcuts.
Good idea, I think.
