Posted - 12/07/2003 : 00:07:48 Hey guys, just 'marking' all the sticky items so they don't get sucked into the Archive like last time!
I'm doing the archiving for the site tonite, every topic that hasn't been had comments added more than 30 days ago will be popped into the archive.

Huh? What'd I say? I was being serious! I think we still need a SARCASTIC font and also one that is clearly NOT SARCASTIC. It's so hard to tell...

Posted - 12/08/2003 : 11:44:13 hmm..no dice.. It seems to time out at around 35 seconds, no matter what i set it to...hmm.. |

Posted - 12/08/2003 : 11:32:27 Nope, broadband won't have anything to do with it.
Okay, i've set the search to timeout at 2mins, lemme know if this helps... |

Posted - 12/08/2003 : 10:01:15 Nah - I'm on broadband too. And I've tried other search parameters (other words, timeframes, etc.) to no avail. Maybe it just doesn't like me. heheh oh well.

Posted - 12/08/2003 : 09:40:40 It seems to work fine for me. Strange!
I'm on a broadband connection if that makes any difference?

Posted - 12/08/2003 : 09:31:48 Dave - It isn't for me, yet. Still getting either "no results for the below search, or a timeout message. But I might still be doing something wrong. I get this when I do a search on something very specific that I know is there, with tiny parameters (input myself for author, 2-month time-frame, unique two-word search "man ray", search in full message, archives only):
"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired
/search.asp, line 545"
I don't know if any of that info helps at all. I have tried other searches, too, with the same weird results.

Archived topics can be read, but sadly they cannot be responded-to, etc..
I'd suggest starting a new topic, and linking to the archived one as a reference. =)
Is the search function any happier? |

Posted - 12/07/2003 : 17:46:26 I believe so. Click on those little folders at the far right of each category on your computer screen. They have that letter 'A' in them to see the archived posts. This has worked for me, anyway. |

Good question. I want an answer also. I am currently trying to resurrect a few old topics.
