We've been working with Amazon on creating a bit of a customized 'storefront' for FB. Basically, the hope is that anyone looking for anything having something to do with FB will be able to see it there. Plus FB gets some sales, we get a small slice, and Amazon gets one too. It'll be (eventually) linked from the main page, much like the forum and discopedia are.

What I'm hoping is that you can take a look and tell me what I'm missing. Particularly in the "related artists" area and of course under musical instruments. I'm looking for the specific guitars that FB and band use (have to be on Amazon, though), pedals, amps, picks, all that stuff. Plus your general impressions. Here's a link to a very preliminary version:

Very good question, I'll bring it up with them.

Looks great! I know it's not important but how about adding the original release date under the purchase price just to show how busy Chuck is. I did notice when you click each CD picture that in the Product Details section the release date is there but for the Pixies re-issues all show the "release date" as 2003 and not there original release date. When I did a search of "Surfer" in the regular amazon.com the original release date just showed the year. I wonder if you could have them correct this and show the full original release date.

COF this looks really good. How nice it's going to be to have all things Frank with just a few clicks. Thanks for organizing this!

I think that the Amazon sellers are supposed to turn up in there, too. I have slightly mixed feelings as FB doesn't get any money from resellers, but on the other hand, we want the store to be handy to fans too. I'll probably put those in anyway, if I haven't already inadvertantly done so.

You're right about the singles. I should probably rename it - I don't think there are quite enough to merit its own category. Thanks for all the feedback, I'll pull up a few more later.

I meant will there be a corresponding UK store with UK prices and UK delivery charges....I ask, because I don't think it's available. No idea about other countries. Not that it matters too much, just in terms of revenue you generate for the site.

As for solo stuff, personal favourites are Kristin Hersh - The Grotto and Tanya Donelly - Whisky Tango Ghosts, but it doesn't matter I guess. Kristin Hersh shows up in the similar artist box on the lower right when looking at Throwing Muses stuff.

Also, nitpicking as I am, the menu item is 'Pixies albums' when there are non-album cd's in there.I assume you'll be putting in the non-album Frank CD's in the 'Frank Black Albums' section too. (such as Headache) - which brings up this....to go in the shop, do they have to be available from just Amazon or Amazon Sellers too?

Sorry, that got long-winded, just some thoughts.

Ah, yes, good call. And I did put Throwing Muses in there since they were sort of critical in getting the Pixies signed, but I guess I could put some solo stuff. Anything in particular?

I think Amazon's worldwide, no? Should be able to use it anywhere, but I may be wrong.

It looks great. I take it this is just a USA thing?

Maybe some Ray Bradbury in the books section? Is it too much of a stretch to put Kristin Hersh/Tanya Donelly in the related artists too?
