a lot of us probably don't view the front page as much as we probably should... i'm sure we've all bookmarked the forums. i think it would be nice if whenever someone creates a news item they also start a thread with the same content. we could then have a direct dicussion within that thread.

although we have a news forum, if you went ahead with my idea i'd still say put it in the frank black general thread (or general pixies depending on the news item). the news forum should be left for members.

Hmmm... interesting, I can listen from work but not home. I guess it can't tell I'm from Canada via work, though we use the same ISP here that I do at home. Possibly because I already had the plug in...

Oh, and thanks for checking it out.

Hmmm, I just tried from home and it didn't work, either. Too bad, I found the new Decemberists disc and was hoping to check it out. It may have been a flaw that it let me in before, hard to say. I may try again from work tomorrow...

I did, but still no joy. I had a look around and found this: http://www.real.com/rhapsody/sysreq?pageid=unagi.10345193&pageregion=A1

still a great idea, though. just wanted you to know someone had seen it.

Heh, I thought you'd appreciate using Run as an example. :) The Rhapsody link seems to work for me in Canada and I'm not a member or anything, so that's interesting it's not working there. Did you download the browser plug-in?

and i'm just here to say I noticed this:

quote:
In other news, we've been working with the folks over at Real Media/Rhapsody to bring instant listening to our Discopedia without the registration nags. Now, if you're browsing the disco (yes, I know, great song title) and you want to hear a track, you should be able to just click the link and hear it at Rhapsody without the nag to register. For example, click here to listen to Frank Black performing Run on Gordon Gano's Hitting the Ground.

and what a great idea it is. i can't get it to work yet (i think the Rhapsody player only works in the US at the mo) but still, nice one, Dean.

And might I add, great song choice to highlight this addition to the Disco.P.

yep, i just came here to ask what happened, rss sounds good though.

Cult_Of_Frank Posted - 04/04/2006 : 21:35:21
OK, now that I've included an RSS feed to the news, I'm gonna' stop posting news in here if you don't mind. It gets to be even more of a nuisance to create news items writing it up to look good twice or thrice. Sound fair?

I agree 92%. I don't think we need two news forums but I'll definitely post all news items in the FB Making Noise section from now on. Thanks.
