We all know FB likes to include scifi stuff in his music...what about specific books/authors he likes?

I know, of course, about the cult of ray/Robert Onion/etc...

"bullet" has always reminded me of Heinlein's "Citizen of the Galaxy" for some reason...

who digs scifi???

I've been on a sci fi kick for a few years now. I'm in the middle of Asimov's 'Robots and Empire'. It's alot different then my favorites, which are; Heinlein's 'Starship Troopers', Haldeman's 'The Forever War' and Steakley's 'Armor'. You can make a case that Haldeman and Steakley borrowed heavily from Heinlein, but I enjoy their stories just the same.

As for Zubrin's Sci Fi book it is called 'First Landing' which is about the first landing on Mars. And the only way to get to Mars would be to follow his step by step instruction from 'The Case For Mars'.

It's kinda hard to write utopian fiction without extreme political views.

I've never found ideological agreement a prerequisite for entertainment, but YMMV obviously. I quite enjoyed the series in spite of my libertarian political philosophy. The ideas are well-explored and -presented, and thought-provoking. I'd recommend it to any fan of hard science fiction.

As far as Frank and SCI-FI, BBC Radio 1 once ran a session with Frank reading from the Martian Chronicles, which was fairly awesome, he has an excellent "spoken word" voice (every time I read Bradbury now its in an FB Voice ).

Forget the cults I got me a whole church!

i remember seeing frank on a much music interview in canada and the vj asked him to name a book he was reading (or one of his favorites) and he named red mars by kim stanley robinson. i think the triology is red, green, and blue mars. i'll read sci-fi but never really got into red mars even though it got some really good reviews.

Is "The Case for Mars" science fiction or science fact? I was never quite sure on that point.

Frank has said that "Big Red" is based on the Mars Trilogy, but I forget who wrote it.
