But on Dog in the Sand you list exactly who played what on each song which nerds like myself really love. However you have'nt done this on any of the your other records that I own (Wah!!!!). Is that strictly due to space constraints? If not I think a lot of people would really appreciate the extra detail. Thanks for reading, and keep it up sir! |

Posted - 08/05/2004 : 20:08:24 I agree. Does joey play the solo to nadine??? It sounds a hell of a lot like him.
So Im headed for the stereo store, to get a white noise maker, and turn it up to ten. |

Posted - 08/05/2004 : 10:26:10 I very much agree. It's especially painful having to listen to the wonderful arrangements on SMYT and not have a clue as to who is playing what.

Posted - 08/05/2004 : 05:19:46 i remember when on either COR or the 1st catholics record it said 'Frank Black guitar right and Lyle Workman guitar left' i thought that was cool as i could then pick up on his playing if i so desired given that cue. obviously the spontaneous aspect of recording has become the focus and studio notes not so much. notes or not it would be cool to see the latest FB&C recording techniques melded with a Steve Albini sound session with previous Catholics members sitting in with the Pixies. just for a song or two. Eno or S.Lillywhite produce a few... ..i could go on but as long as FRANK BLACK FRANCIS whatever is still wailing i'll keep listening

Posted - 08/05/2004 : 04:21:59 to save space ive seen a key thing for nerds again which lists a key beside each musician and instrument and puts then beside each song... eg... 1. Frank Black A. Guitar 2. Rich Gilbert B. Vocal 3. Dave C. Keyboard 4. etc D. Bass
then u just put 1AB, 2E, 3D beside the songs..... its on a vic chesnutt album i believe....
saves a bit of space i guess
