I think "All My Ghosts" is probably the best FB single release, Humbolt and Changing of the Guards are two of the best b-sides ever, and probably two of my favourite FB tracks of all time.

Headache (both discs) comes in a close second

What does anyone else reckon?

no idea, they are all good...

but for some reason "amnesia" and "hate me" are my all-time favourite b-sides. they are both so wacky and weird, and still funny and extremely enjoyable.

I've not been so keen on the SMYT b-sides, but perhaps I need to give em another listen (having fought tooth and nail to secure every limited ed single they released...)

I am partial to St. Francias, I think this is the best FB song written to date, and Everything is new. He picked out great covers for EIN.

(And hadn't it(surf epic) been around since the late Pixies days?)

Yes supposedly Joey played all the guitar work originally on the pixies version and fb version and was then redrafted back in for the dog in the sand title track to great effect i might add.

Fave ep-Robert Onion: 1.Robert Onion (4.01) 2.Pan American Highway (4.18) 3.Angst (1.35)

Excellent, especially PAN AM HIGHWAY and ANGST.

I like Surf Epic... although I wonder how it was written. Frank play the chords to EDF and the keyboard wizard do the rest? There doesn't sound like there's much guitar on the track.

I still have to see a bad Frank Black EP. My fave would be the Dog Gone ep. And then this morning I listened to the Everything Is New ep (w/ Take What You Want & Down In The Hole) and the Nadine one (w/ Snake Oil and Ludwigshafen) and it totally made my day.

i reckon. i love the cover art too. the dudes are walking around naked without heads- with a sad look on their faces.

i also really like the men in black ep. it has men in black, you never heard about me, pray a little faster and announcement. i listened to it a lot until oddballs came out with these b sides plus others.

It is pretty damn good, but the Hand on to Your Ego single with Surf Epic (the 10 minute instrumental precursor to Dog In The Sand) is a gem; a veritable Frank Black/ Eric Drew Feldman meaty soup of creative goo...
