Posted - 06/10/2004 : 16:28:08 This happens from time to time, happened last year when SMYT was released, and now far worse with the reunion. I can't stop listening to everything, just constant, non stop, Pixies, FB, Breeders, the rest of my album collection (in-bred 4ad heavy quagmire that it is) doesn't even get a look in at such times. It's a dire state of affairs ladies and gentleman and it has to stop. Everytime I think I can go cold turkey and slip on a They Might Be Giants album, or maybe that nice new Guided By Voices album I got last week, before I know it I'm blissed on Speedy Marie or All My Ghosts.
Surely this cant be healthy...

New Day Rising has to be Husker Du's finest hour - finally tracked it down again the other day - just sensational. Personally I dont rate much of their later stuff. Check out Everthing Falls Apart (And More), First album + rareties - excellent stufff

Posted - 12/08/2004 : 21:42:38 Now I even hooked my five year old son on the stuff. As I drive around it's either "Dad, play the monkey's gone to heaven song". "OK, which one, the real version, or just Frank?"..."the real version with the Pixies". Then, "play the drive your car into the ocean song"..."Paul, which one..." over and over again, ejecting cd's et cetera. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far... |

I can´t have a F.B. overdose, but my family already did...Now I only listen alone, can you see how sad this is?

Yeah, me too. It's a good segue. I suppose Lou Reed would work, too. Dylan. Who else did Frank say he was offering homage in his "Oddballs" liners?

Posted - 12/07/2004 : 10:04:58 Been addicted for a really long time, and like my other addictions, I really don't give this one a break either. I love to drive and listen to Frank. Its pretty rare a frank cd isn't in the player. My ex thought I was obsessed with him because it was always playing when we got in the car. I'd turn it up a little louder and tell her its much worse than an obsession. I can't get enough, but its always playing in my head anyways. |

Posted - 06/12/2004 : 08:40:50 overdose on FB and/or pixies... how? Everytime I get an album I figure there will never be another for me.. untill the next one. Don't think for the last three weeks I have put on a CD that isn't FB/Pixies... I'm going to go try putting something else on now

Posted - 06/11/2004 : 19:41:48 I always listen to music at work, and we've got a 5 dics Cd player, one of those slots is always filled by an FB cd. Right now it's BLD, before that it was SMYT for about 6 months straight...
And if I listen to music at home, it's the disclive stuff with my headphones on turned up to at least 7...
So I usually only listen to one FB album at a time. I can't wait to O.D. on Honeycomb... |

Posted - 06/11/2004 : 19:06:57 I go through stages of just listening to FB / Pixies, and my other music loving mates tell me that I am a sad bastard.... which I guess I am when you step back and look at it, but at the end of the day who gives a fuck. Franks music is so fucking cool, that I reckon I'll be playing it to my wife and kids when we go for a Sunday afternoon leisurely drive to the countryside in about 10 years time.
Seeing Pixies is responsible for constant listening at the moment, plus insane and compulsive downloading of gigs from Soulseek. Man, it's fucked up that I get up at about 5:00am to start downloading as thats when the speeds are better over here.

Posted - 06/10/2004 : 21:28:28 I don't normally listen to FB that much. I have a lot of Frank Black vinyl and to listen to my vinyl at the wrong time would waste my expensive d4. So I only listen to FB when I'm in the perfect mood and have the time. Which doesn't occur very often. |

Posted - 06/10/2004 : 19:27:35 at the moment i am compiling a fb "best of". i'm trying my best to reduce the number or songs, but i don't think that it will be less than a 3 cd compilation. i have 60 indispensable songs to put on. and i had to listen to all the albums more than once trying to choose what to leave out. i love making compilations.
