Posted - 03/30/2004 : 10:08:47 So today i was ripping a bunch of my FB singles to my computer to make a mix, and when i put in the I Gotta Move CD Single. When my Windows Media Player opened up to play it, the 2 b-sides were labeled as "Island of Death" and "Nothing Ever Changes" instead of Humboldt County Massacre and Do Nothing.
Just thought it was funny...

Posted - 03/30/2004 : 23:20:17 Well If you put your Surfer Rosa cd in your computer he adds another title because he didn't get the whole You fuckin die-track and mislabeled all the songs from there on so that I've been tired is named Levitate Me and Levitate Me has no name, my computer said that Levitate Me was named something like Gary something...well I had a topic about it a year ago, it seems that CDDB has fixed the mistake because I can't see it anymore,
there goes my reply, damn

It's something he would do" nah, those gawddamn interweb song databases that media player latches on to are so worthless they should have to lick the hair right off of my nuts. Plus, Do Nothing is a cover, so Frank has no say in what to call it. the first person to enter those titles in was probably just bein funny, and Island of Death IS an awesome title. I'm gonna drink more and use that to write a song. cooolll. Don't use Windows media player, anyway. They track you too much, and I've been noticing it adds distortion where my other media players don't. effin microsoft. i'm glad their source code got leaked. crybabies. love, drinky johnny

Posted - 03/30/2004 : 17:37:28 The reason the song titles came up funny might be because whoever entered them into the CD database (CDDB) - the DB your music apps query for song titles and other CD info- entered them that way -intentionally or blindly guessing. I've run into some cds that don't have an entry, and it tells me I can enter the information into the database myself. Mwahahahahha!

Posted - 03/30/2004 : 17:06:34 Some of the Humboldt County Massacre did occur on an island purchased by Robert Gunther or so say the lyrics to the song. & In the song Do Nothing he says Nothing Ever Change a few times.
Was this ripped from the original CD single? If so I wonder if it wasn't done on purpose by FB himself.
Maybe they where the original titles to the songs but where never changed. It's something he would do.

Posted - 03/30/2004 : 15:12:08 Now why would it do that? Does Brian's computer normally make up its own titles?
