Fallopian twinkled. "They accuse us of being paranoids."
"They?" inquired Metzger, twinkling also.
"Us?" asked Oedipa.

cvb's tusk cover was actually a really good disc. somewhat of a acquired taste, but very awesome. trippier than one would think. i would love to hear frank cover eno's "another green world". or maybe "here come the warm jet's".

...How about Pink Floyd's "Animals"?

Old Frank Black could cover the " War of the Worlds " soundtrack. Maybe a joint operation with Portishead.

The more recent Frank Black can cover the " Bonanza " soundtrack.

"The Mask and Mirror" by Loreena Mckennitt. This will make me very popular in FB.net site, but it's one of my favourite albums. Sure Frank will be glad to explore the new age scene.

FB has always worshipped Neil Young ...
I would really appreciate a FB and C's cover of Harvest.
I would definitely be curious to listen to such a record ...

Are you kidding? Frank is 40 something. Can you imagine him singing "why can't i get just one fuck, i know that has something to do with luck"?

Great ideas. Camper would be interesting, Fleetwood Mac better. What about a Pere Ubu album? "St. Arkansas" or one of the earlies ... But really, do we care? He and the Catholics could remake a Weezer album and I'd be nodding my head.

I think a funk album would be fun, ala "Mother Popcorn." Maybe the entire James Brown "Sex Machine album?" Again fun. If you've heard that remake, you know what I mean. Daaa-yaamn!

Perhaps there's a market for online only releases? I'd pay to hear a one-off of almost any seminal or even kitchy album of Mr. Black's choice. I wanna be edumacated. But I'm sure any investiture of studio time requires a commensurate economic payoff.

Yeah! A lot of the stuff on the white album is in the same vein as the catholics stuff. It'd be right up their street. Joey Santiago could be the guest guitarist on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".:) And they already know how to play "Wild Honey Pie"!!!!

Key Lime Pie by Camper Van Beethoven

son of a bitch...now THAT is what i'm screaming...that is one rare piece of work by an otherwise kinda silly college kitch band. listenable start to finish...very mature piece.

oddly enough CVB released a full album cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk"...god...no comment...talk about an aquired taste...i had to pass that one up.

Yeah, I never bothered getting Tusk either, not caring for Fleetwood Mac. Key Lime Pie is a great album, although not my favorite CVB work, which would probably be their self-titled album. KLP is an all-around solid album, but I think it might have made sense to put "Jack Ruby" later in the tracklist. I tend to think it's not a good idea to start with something long, though.

Getting back to Frank, yeah, it would be cool to hear him cover just about anything by CVB, although I'm not sure it would be the same without the violin.

...and as far as CarterUSM "the love album"

i'd pay money to hear frank cover "the impossible dream" (from the man of la mancha) haha

sucks that was their big single off the album, but hey, that's what you get for releasing cheese like that around xmas time when the economy was actually good in most of the world.

i liked the album...was a bit short, though

Zaireeka by Flaming Lips

Zaireeka is such a great album. "Thirty Five Thousand Feet of Despair" would fit quite nicely in a list of The Top Ten Greatest Songs of All Time.

I think a while back someone said Frank doing Bowie's "Watch that Man", would be really cool (he could SCREAM the chorus!), so I'd have to say "Alladin Sane". I'd rather hear him do "The Man Who sold the World", though. Definitely one of my fav Bowie albums. Frank could put a new twist on "BLACK Country Rock"!:)

But knowing his love for Iggy Pop, he'd probably cover a Stooges album, or Iggy's "Lust For Life". But whatever he would do, it would be an interesting listen.

The first violent femmes seems reasonable
but maybe a little too reasonable
so what about Pere Ubu? It could work!
But still, it seems about too obvious
He should do Millenium by The Backstreet Boys

I think the Frank and the Catholics could do an incendiary full-album cover of Television's "Marquee Moon"

"Exile On Main Street". Jason, "Magic and Loss" is a great CD, I went through the whole cancer thing and almost bit the big one so I can really relate to that record.

I play them all the time on acoustic and it sounds great. After listening to that album hundreds and hundreds of times, anything that breathes new life into it is fine by me.
